25.01.2022 Hello everyone, I've had quite an adventure this weekend... My Friday started off normally. I went to Pilates and felt fine. Kids went to school and I took the toddler to his "Mummy and me Music". I felt fine.... Came home and had an onset of abdominal pain that I thought was something I ate. Throughout the day the pain moved around, and then it was concentrated on the lower right side. It wasn't that bad...just mild discomfort really. Except when the toddler was climbing on me...then it was noticeably worse. But I knew it wasn't normal for me. Having had digestive issues I'm in tune with what feels normal in this area. Eventually at 9pm the Home Doctor said he couldn't rule out appendicitis. So off we all went to A+E. I sent the family home as it was so late. So a lot of other things happened but we're all busy so I'll cut a long story short! I came home yesterday appendix-less. I'm feeling fine but a little out of sorts still. The post-surgery discomfort has mostly now dissipated and I'm moving around a lot. I caught it very early and the Doctors said that's unusual. There was only mild infection on the tip of the appendix, and normally by the time people are examined it can be a lot worse. So this reinforces to me what I say about listening to your body and becoming familiar with what feels right to you...in Yoga and outside too. So...in light of this, my classes will be covered by other teachers over the next 2 weeks. Please look out for an email from me in the coming days with details of your teacher. I hope to be back in action after two weeks off. Thanks for reading!

It can be done before you go to bed, or lying in bed just before you fall asleep. Well use Ayurvedic self-massage to get into the marma points on the face and neck that stimulate the Vagus nerve and bring on the the "relaxation response". Ill take you through the best breathing technique to help you relax and fall asleep, and guide you through a Ful...l Body relaxation. Goodnight everyone, and happy sleeping!

19.01.2022 Theres plenty of evidence to show that practising Gratitude on a daily basis leads to a stronger sense of happiness. Write down three things you feel grateful for today...and every day! A simple 13 minute Gratitude Yoga and meditation practice will be posted tomorrow morning.

18.01.2022 Zzzz...the importance of sleep. Getting enough sleep (7-9 hours) is now touted as the most important factor in improving health outcomes (across the general population). Even more so than diet or exercise. Sleep is where growth and healing happens. We need sleep for our mental health too. We have probably all experienced lack of sleep and might know that not getting enough sleep leads to lack of concentration, less motivation and poorer choices with food and other things.... This guy is getting enough. His Mummy may or may not be! New recording coming this weekend...massage and meditation for sleep.

A great one if youve been sitting a lot or have discomfort in your back or hips. This ones not to be done during Pregnancy due to the several twisting movements. ... As with all exercise, if you have an injury, medical or chronic health condition, please seek clearance from a Medical professional before participating in Yoga.

16.01.2022 Have you meditated today?

15.01.2022 The 2 simple techniques in this video are for you if you have trouble getting to sleep, or wake up in the night and it takes a while to get back to sleep. You may have no issues with sleep, but these practices are also helpful for getting you out of "fight or flight" mode, e.g. stress, feelings of anxiety or overwhelm. In particular, the breathing technique has been shown in studies to reduce sympathetic nervous system activity, i.e. its proven to make you feel calmer. ... *Disclaimer* Please listen to your body when trying something new, to determine whether it feels right for you. Consult a medical professional before practising if pregnant, or if you have any health issues, in particular high blood pressure, neck issues or eye issues.
