For giving us: two days of informative inspirational Forums-(from Women on... the Front Line of Hip Hop, The Intersection of Music and Politics, Image Making-The Changing Face of Music, to 'How Opera'. Also keynote speaker Eddie Ayres); a fantastic celebration concert and awards ceremony (with incredible talents of women such as Cheryl Barker, Dizzy Doolan, Kween G, Kaylah Truth, Ngaiire, Katie Noonan & Rene Geyer to name a few... and looking after us so generously! WOW!! Congratulations AWMA team, nominees and award receivers. Such an empowering inspirational opportunity to hear Womens voices, perspectives, aspirations & achievements. And, throughout the event, from the first 'Welcome to Country,' a real presence of acknowledgment, recognition & respect to not only Brisbane's First Nations people & culture, but to all of Australia's, and also honest conversations and ally-ship for all marginalised groups who are not equally supported in the Australian Music Industry. 11.01.2022 My beautiful diverse family, friends and music lovers of all ages, nations, sexual preferences etc, I’m planning to create a video clip for a new song I’m recording titled ‘Beauty In Us All,’ in response to the Black Lives Matter issue & general inequality. I would be so honoured and grateful if any of you would be willing to allow me to use phots of you in all your glory & beauty. I’m hoping for a combination of different people, of all ages, races, abilities etc. I’d love p...hotos of groups of people (or two friends/couples) from mixed cultures etc. {Example here is one of my favourite photos of my dad with his mates working in a hardware store in Zimbabwe} If you’d like to have your photo in this clip please send them to me with a written statement that everyone in the photo gives me permission to use it to create and release ‘Beauty In Us All’ video clip... 09.01.2022 Here in Cairns North Queensland, Australia, when COVID hit, and all our music venues shut down, friends Roz, Mick and Sam, began this fortnightly 'Kitchen Sessions' (free Live FB show)hosting local original artists to play 10 songs, interspersed with a Visual Artist segment, a visit to a local Restaurant and a wine segment. I'll be playing 3 songs solo, then 7 songs with Jen Fengler on drum kit, Stephen Maxwell (the Rev) on keyboards, David Breeze on guitar and Steven Stanley on Bass. It’s an eclectic collection of original songs, from Bossa to Blues to Reggae, and we’re pre-viewing the Beauty In Us All song due to be released next month plus a song about being single during Covid we’ve also been recording. It'll be a lot of fun. A bit seat of the pants, but mostly a celebration of playing music with humans!! Love for you to tune in!
