25.01.2022 Will I get to see any of my favourite ladies in the industry here?! Fantastic event at the end of the month to see what's going on in the future of tech here in Darwin, what opportunities will be coming up?!
22.01.2022 Dry season is the most amazing time for events, and I was so lucky to work alongside the designers who created the four websites for NT Major Events as the strategic UX person. This meant documenting the user groups' needs, emotions and end goals then mapping out the logic of the four websites to encourage ticket sales on mobile devices: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au/nt-major-events
22.01.2022 And just like that it's been a month since I last posted. I can't wait to show you what I've been working on and show why I've been too busy to post, so whilst I update my portfolio how about a freebie to help you review your current website?! Download my free persona cheat sheet here and see your website through your customers' eyes!: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au//why-do-we-create-user-per
22.01.2022 Hello Monday Morning! Who wants a freebie?! I've been plugging away getting together this cheat sheet to help people test their own websites! I think it's a bit of a myth that you need spend a load of cash to start a website from scratch when there could be some little updates that you can be doing yourself. Take a look and let me know what you think - and as always if you have any questions just get in touch! http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au//when-should-you-get-a-use
20.01.2022 How much does it cost to get a website built in Darwin?! I've worked in Darwin for roughly 7 years and seen a huge difference in website prices from web agencies. Every company has their own push towards their product so it must be hard to work out how much your business should be paying! To help you get started I've created this overview guide showing you what to expect for those different price brackets, which questions you should be asking when gathering quotes with the important pros and cons to each, but also some guides for the terminology and options you'll be faced with. As always I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions! http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au//getting-started-with-your
20.01.2022 Anyone who knows me, knows just how exciting it was to get the phone call from Brainium Labs saying, "fancy teaming up for the Territory Wildlife Park's new website?". Heck yes!! So proud to have played a role in the concept design for the new website of my favourite place in Darwin, plus its partner site in Alice Springs. Have a read about my role and what we achieved here: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au/wildlife-parks-website-desi
18.01.2022 Nice breakdown on the difference between sympathy and empathy 'Sympathy vs. Empathy in UX' https://www.nngroup.com/articles/sympathy-vs-empathy-ux/
18.01.2022 Had an exciting night last night seeing the grand opening of A Territory Story exhibition at the Northern Territory Library. I’ve been helping to match some of the digital displays to the awesome branding and exhibition design and it was fantastic to see how they put them all together and integrated them into the exhibits. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re around Parliament House!
17.01.2022 I've been doing a lot of work with smaller companies and startups recently creating these awesome little kickstarter websites to help people get (re)started online. My approach is to always thinking about your users first - what are they thinking/what do they want to see and then using simple ways to provide that nice experience online for them. Here's one of the examples of the websites that's recently gone live: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au/dm-performance-and-fitness

14.01.2022 This week has started with a BANG when the new NT Field and Game website went live! They are the premium gun club in the NT but with no online presence they were struggling to show that fact off. Now they have a sexy new site to encourage more families and competitive shooters to safely enjoy gun sports and get involved in conservation, check it out http://ntfieldandgame.com.au/
11.01.2022 Quick Website Tip: Ever paused for a split second not being able to work out whether that date is in Australian or US formats, or had to spend ages scrolling through dates to find the one that you want to select? Fixing little pain points like that can help speed up the process of filling in forms on your website and make it less likely that people will quit filling in your form! Plus writing the date in words instead of numbers can speed up the understanding at first glance for one of dates, whereas numerical dates can speed up the process of sorting dates, so make sure you're picking the right options for your website! Yey for the users!!

03.01.2022 Ever had to use an intranet through work and found the whole process painful?! I've teamed up with Brainium Labs and created the new intranet for Tourism completely from the standpoint of its users. They've told me what they needed, how they like to see their content and what would make their life easier - and so that's what we did! Check out the project details here: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au/intranet-design-user-experi
03.01.2022 It's ok to do a little bit of shameless self promotion when you're totally in love a project and the client right?! This job was fantastic to work on, from the nitty gritty user analysis to be given huge flexibility in the UX approach - see what we achieved together here: http://www.thesitesmiths.com.au/northern-territory-library-
