15.01.2022 Sitting in amidst the hills here on the Northern Rivers of NSW feels so bitter sweet. It’s one hell of lucky spot to be. Every being on this earth is feeling the pain of it ripple through us in one way or another..... we are connected to her heart & can’t not feel it. The unconscious, the children, the elderly, the animals, the ones blinded by greed. It’s collective & penetrating to the core. I don’t have many words at the moment. My quiet heart isn’t withdrawn because of my... lack of love, my inability to scream above the remaining tree tops in unison with the rest of Australia isnt because I don’t care. I am stunned & I’m dumbfounded like all of you. Is this all really happening? Are we really going through these times? How this could have all been avoided had we just listened to what the earth had been telling us for so long. We can donate, we can volunteer, we fundraise, we can knit little mittens for our beloved burnt animals.... please do anything you can! First & foremost we must love.... we must listen to the original custodians of this land, we must support those that cannot support themselves. Forge new communities for healing. The loss is mighty & so too must be our strength in holding each other arm in arm in these catastrophic times. 12.01.2022 Good evening ;0) This little lickable morsel came out of yesterday's kiln firing. It is a continuous journey searching for the ultimate drip. Each glaze, each type of clay, each kiln, each atmosphere has its own character. Like you & I, they have their likes + dislikes.... The dancing dragon glaze doesn't like to get as hot as the lucid dreaming glaze. The #keannes9 clay when in certain positions in my gas kiln comes out a dark chocolate colour & in other positions a salmony cream colour. When I reduce the oxygen just right then all the glazes turn purple & red. If I don't reduce it enough the glazes turn green & muddy white. Always paying great attention to the thickness of the glaze application for it can determine the drip being too much or non-existent. When a you pay great attention to all elements - fire, wind, water + earth - you can find a wonderful melody in which they all dance to in perfect harmony.
