24.01.2022 The AIHL would like to express their profound sadness and deepest sympathies to the Frampton family after the untimely passing of former President and Head Comm...issioner Tim Frampton. Tim joined the AIHL as President from 2006, and served in that role until the AGM in late 2011. Tim's skills as a friendly and pragmatic negotiator were crucial to maintain unity in a turbulent period for the League. His legacy extends from the AGM post 2005 finals through to the finals of 2011 at Docklands, Melbourne. Tim oversaw the launch of the first official AIHL webpage and social media program for the AIHL, and recruited a number of key board members, including Alexandra Hamilton (nee Lata). During Tim's time as President, and then as Head Commissioner, the AIHL hosted increasingly high-profile finals series, including 2006 in Adelaide, 2007 in Penrith in Sydney West (the first to do live video streaming), 2008 and 2009 in Newcastle and 2010 and 2011 in Melbourne at the new facility in Docklands. Tim saw great potential in the League, seeking out partnerships throughout Australia and in New Zealand, and was pivotal in the expansion of the league into Western Australia and the inclusion of the Mustangs in 2011-12. Hockey wasn't Tim's only sporting passion. He used his experience to work with the Football Federation of Victoria and Swimming Victoria in management roles. Outside of work hours he loved playing cricket throughout the Melbourne summers for the Deepdene Uniting Cricket Club. Tim is survived by his wife Robyn, and three children Liam, James and Alannah. He also leaves behind him years of wonderful memories and friendships from his professional and sporting life. Vale Tim Frampton - the AIHL will cherish you as a great leader through crisis, the builder of the successful league we enjoy today. For those of us lucky enough to serve the sport with you, we will cherish your camaraderie and friendship in our memories of you.

03.01.2022 This episode ties in in everything we’ve been through in the previous five episodes. We show you how to combine stance, positioning, skating and movements, using some simple drills and how to add progressions. These drills can be done in any space on the ice, and not just limited to the crease. You can use them as part of your warm up for practice or games, or as stand-alone drills within practice. Letter patterns include, but not limited to, V, X and Z. Keys to Success:... - Start with simple movements on your feet, using T-pushes, Shuffles and C-Cuts. - Progress to adding a butterfly at one of the points. - Next, add in butterfly slides. - Finally, add in butterfly pushes as your final movement. Think of different letters you can do, such as Y or W, as well as different movement combinations with skating and slides. Look to incorporate a shot or two during the drill, and remember your 3H when moving between different points.
