23.01.2022 NAIDOC - Always Was, Always Will Be. Yesterday at the Dubbo campus we celebrated NAIDOC. We held a morning gathering where we acknowledged the Wiradjuri people, the traditional custodians of the land and paid respect to elders past, present and emerging. We held amazing art activities across the school including: sand art, rock painting and clay sculptures. We listened to our favourite Aboriginal artists throughout the day. It was a day of physical activities, leadership skills and working cooperatively together. 18.01.2022 As part of their studies of plate tectonics, students at SSC Dubbo partook in a sustainable engineering challenge in which they had to create earthquake-proof buildings using only limited materials. Bonus points were awarded for height, strength and aesthetic appeal. Marine On Thursday our Bathurst campus spent the day rock climbing and bushwalking at Fairy Bower, Mount Victoria. ... It was a fantastic day of fun and team work. 16.01.2022 Native secrets In Geography our students learned about environmental change and land management. They were able to see this theory work in a real setting at Native Secrets. Students engaged in a tour of the property investigating how the land management processes have changed the local environment.... Their website states, We created Native Secrets as a way to reignite old conversations and preserve generational knowledge. Along the way, we discovered a way to reinvigorate small ecosystems by managing overgrown populations of white cypress. Students enjoyed the learning experience and relating what they have been learning in class to a real world experience. #SSCDUB

We saw some creative costumes from both students and staff, inspired by their favourite book characters. 06.01.2022 Champion Ram Today we took a herd of students and sheep to an inter-school Coriedale sheep show at Rydal. We were lucky enough to be awarded Champion Ram and Jarad (Year 10) placed 2nd in the handlers class. It was an awesome day out, full of fun and learning.... 02.01.2022 Maths... but not as you know it As part of the Year 10 Mathematics course, our students rent their desks and pay bills like insurance and waste collection. Students also have the chance to apply for jobs to earn money to receive Skillset Dollars, better known as Skollars. On Thursday, we participated in an auction where students could use their savings to bid on items such as an Annie’s Ice Cream Voucher, fake eyelashes, a bag of Doritos, wireless ear buds and even a myst...ery box. We had a great time with some students continuing to save their money whilst others bid hard and won several prizes.

01.01.2022 Local Hero Our Year 12 student, Dylan James, appeared on the Today show this morning after saving a local kitten from a drain. Dylan is an active volunteer with the Eglinton Rural Fire Service and helped with the bushfires in January this year. Great work Dylan!
