24.01.2022 On this glorious, still, warm/ish, sunny, clear day in Bundanoon I could be forgiven for considering the possibility of hosting an outdoor lunchtime house concert at Skinkworld for a maximum of 15 guests with generous social distancing. New format, conditions and protocols would need to apply but I am starting to imagine it will be possible in the next few months if all goes well.

21.01.2022 There will be no house concerts at Skinkworld in March or April. The scheduled winter events are 17 May with Montgomery Church, 14 June with Rosie and Nigel, and 19 July with Sejafi. I'll keep you posted.

20.01.2022 Although there are no scheduled Skinkworld House Concerts in March or April, it will come as no surprise that I am postponing all events until further notice. The Montgomery Church house concert will not happen in May and it is unlikely that the June and July house concerts will go ahead unless the situation changes for the better. Meanwhile, take every precaution and stay well. There will be a time for gathering and we will attempt to rebook the promised artists further down the track.

18.01.2022 Mandy Connell performed recently at a house concert in Bundanoon. For those who couldn't attend, here's a new clip Mandy made for her series An Otherwise Quiet Room. I thought The Garden a very appropriate song for Bundanoon's Garden Ramble this last weekend. For all you gardeners out there!

18.01.2022 Sensuous, alluring, slightly creepy. Covid Noir. So sorry we had to postpone their Skinkworld House Concert this September. This is what they got up to instead. I must say it was an amazing feat under lockdown in Melbourne. Congratulations Alanna and Alicia and your excellent musical and techie colleagues.

08.01.2022 My dear friend Gabriele Downie died of a stroke early this morning. For those of you who were welcomed into her home I'm sure you will know how much she meant to me and all the Skinkworld House Concert crew.

03.01.2022 In these dark times for community singing, we need projects that remind us that songs offer something uplifting we can all share and participate in. Miguel has put a massive effort into recording and uploading to Bandcamp three volumes of wonderful songs by people who would mostly otherwise not have been recorded. People who sing regularly at folk clubs, folk festivals and singing sessions in homes and tiny venues all throughout the country, such as at Skinkworld in Bundanoon.... It reminds us that you don't need to be a "professional" to be able to produce amazing music. One of my own original songs, We Fly When We Sing, appears at the very end of the third volume, Track 15: More People Have Songs. I lead the song, accompanied by a room full of other singers on the album joining with me in glorious harmonies. Thanks to all who came to the show and to those who stayed on to share your music with Mandy afterwards. Thanks especially to Mandy, for sharing your time and company with me last week.
