Then, I will probably take two days off tracking for Christmas and Boxing Day aka eat-all-the-leftovers day I will eat food that makes me feel good, which means I’m actually going to do some of my own cooking and meal-prepping while home. But, that also means I will eat chocolate, gingerbread cookies, Christmas ham (espe...cially the outside chewy sweet bits) and potatoes with lots of salt and butter DO THIS; before you worry about food, just think about how you want to show up each day. Who do you want to be? What are the holidays about for you? Set your intentions. Be present. Make memories. Enjoy being with the people you love. If you’re a tracker, put your phone away for at least a day. Switch off and let your food decisions be made by you and not your macros. Consider eating some smaller more nutrient dense meals before the main event. Generally speaking, not eating to save yourself up only leads to over-eating. Avoid arriving hungry, DEFINITELY DON’T BE THAT GUY THAT'S STARVING. That’s a bad game plan. Pre-eat, people! #preating Enjoy it! Try everything and when you’ve found what you like, go back for seconds. No rules! Choose what SATISFIES YOU, don’t just eat it because it’s there. This is not the last time you will ever have these foods, you don’t have to eat like you’ll never eat them again! If you’re beginning to feel full, about an 8/10, slow down and take a break. In another 20 minutes, you are going to be a 10/10!! Listen to your body, put your utensils down in between bites and actually chew your food!! What an idea!!? Some movement might include a big sweat sesh in the garage or a really nice walk through the park with family. But, if you feel like sitting on the couch all day - do that! Do what makes you feel good! There is no need to exercise to justify or burn off your food. Just chill TF out, mate! Let go of any guilt or shame associated with eating. Practice enjoying food - it’s ok to like eating food! Even the stuff you’re not supposed to eat! Accept yourself today.
