21.01.2022 Matt Charles from Sliding Lodge Performance Horses in Quialigo, just outside of Goulburn NSW He runs Sliding Lodge full time where he specialises in Reining and... works casually at BWS in Goulburn. Matt enjoys using body control to help any horse and rider in any discipline. Many riders credit Matt in assisting them build their confidence & improve results in the show pen. At any NSWRHA show you can always find Matt standing at the gate supporting all riders & is always so generous with his time. He has coached non pro and youth riders to national and state championships and is also a National Champion himself. He is honoured to credit his experience to some of the world’s best reiners. Starting out with Rob Lawson then travelling to the US spending time with Joe Schmidt. Matt says both of these men improved him as a showman & as a rider. Then, last year he took an amazing opportunity to ride with 6 million dollar rider and leading reining trainer, Shawn Flarida. Matt says he’ll never stops learning. All of his clients keep him curious. I’m learning from them all the time he says. He enjoys watching everyone no matter what level. He has an exciting futurity prospect to show next year by Gunners Special Nite bred by Tony Mitchell at Ravenswood Reiners. We asked which horse he would be riding at this event & he wanted to surprise us!!! His best piece of advice for someone starting out. Find a trainer you enjoy and understand. 10.01.2022 The last show of the season went off with a bang. Cowboy Christmas at k ranch. Congratulations to the nswrha committee for running a successful show and all win...ners, place-getters. All of my clients i was able to help out at the show, you all did a great job. A lot of positives to take away. Thanks to Andy O'Connor for everything you do Natasha Daly winning rookie level 1 Tori Campbell being super consistent in all classes and ended up 3rd in the green rider shootout on a horse she has trained herself Emma English its all coming together, your timing has improved heaps. Kristen Hill first time showing, you and pucky looked $1million Sue Fyfe first time showing, you handled it very well. Jackie Cussen looking more relaxed in the pen everytime.
