25.01.2022 We even made it to the TV News! Great work Liz Hawkins, Francesca Belperio and all!

24.01.2022 Today we kicked off a brand new Slingsby project: THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, INCLUDING YOU, AS TOLD BY ME: Part One - STORY. A wonderful room with brilliant writing by Quincy, Laura, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Darian, Shabana, Audrey, Wendy, Jacqy and Gareth. Produced by Georgia. Filming later in the year, a meditation on the power, meaning, dangers and delights of stories.

24.01.2022 The rebooted Her Majesty's Theatre is looking beautiful!

23.01.2022 An inspiring and exciting day of Creative Development on Artist in Residence, Sally Hardys new work. We meant to take a photo...but it was one of those sitting at social distance, reading and sharing kinda days. Compelling images to come later!

23.01.2022 We were honoured with a visit by a special guest during rehearsal today. Who better to sing the first song from the new Her Majesty's Theatre stage than the wonderful Jacqy Phillips! Formerly a vaudeville stage for the Tivoli circuit, The Maj begins its new life with a song from the past. We love you Jacqy Phillips. Thank you. #TheMajADL

23.01.2022 Happy International Dog Day to puppies and their pals everywhere. #dogs #friends #calm #companion #puppies #slingsbyinaus #journeyinwonder #slingsbyfuture

22.01.2022 As we prepare to premiere The Boy Who Talked to Dogs, our international collaboration in partnership with Draiocht Blanchardstown, State Theatre Company South Australia and Adelaide Festival, we are very excited to share the announcement of a new collaboration on the horizon. From Mountain to Mountain and Sea to Sea - a bilingual immersive theatre production exploring the eternal need for the ancient and the urban need for the forest, in partnership with our great friends The A.S.K.

22.01.2022 Getting Her Majesty's Theatre ready for us took 105 years of shows plus two years of serious facelift. Our bump-in should take about 4 hours. It all sits on Kaurna land, where stories have been shared for millennia. We can't wait to share a new story within those walls. The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy - 23-27 June. ... 18.01.2022 More beautiful images of Her Majesty's Theatre and talk about our family 'musical'!. Why yes, yes it is.

18.01.2022 This is an important topic of conversation. These are questions we considered in the development and roll out of SLINGSBY by REQUEST, a monetised platform for connecting our work with audiences here in South Australia and internationally. We are selling tickets, building relationships with existing audiences, while finding new audiences, and most importantly, generating income for Slingsby and the artists that made the work.

16.01.2022 One more show and then our wonderful season to reopen Her Majesty's Theatre comes to a close. Before we depart we continue the tradition of leaving a memory of our presence on the wonderful The Maj Signature Wall. Congratulations to Stephen Sheehan, Sam McMahon, Darian Tregenza, Laura Palombella, Finegan Kruckemeyer, Quincy Grant, Wendy Todd, Geoff Cobham, Sophie Hyde, Nic O'Connor, Sophie Mazengarb, Andy Ellis, Roland Partis, Van Locker, Stacey Baldwin, Georgia Stanley, Van...essa van de Weyer, everyone at Adelaide Festival Centre, SA Health and Government of South Australia. Such a privilige and a joy to be back with audiences, sharing this beautiful story and the deep, power of live theatre. Looking forward to our next adventure with another story in another theatre. For now it is back to our home at the Hall of Possibility.

12.01.2022 Wonderful to welcome our first schools audience into Her Majesty's Theatre to see The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy. Due to schools being open in South Australia this single class did not need to be socially distanced. A beautiful response to the show from these high school students who are now enjoying a VIP backstage tour of the $66m refurbishment of The Maj. Thank you to all at Adelaide Festival Centre.

11.01.2022 This week we are thrilled to be providing Creative Direction for a major event at Her Majestys Theater.

11.01.2022 When friends across borders are going through challenging moments of radical change, we hope to shine a little more light. For a limited time, we are making our entire online resource library available to Victorian educators for only $8 per student. Bookings: https://www.slingsby.net.au/slingsby-by-request/

10.01.2022 We opened a show and a refurbished theatre tonight, with social distancing and a reduced capacity of 48, and you know what - it was wonderful! We built the seating allocation into the design of the show and sought to acknowledge the pandemic, without it getting in the way of the story we were there to tell. It felt so great to be performing for a live audience. Thank you Adelaide Festival Centre and everyone at Slingsby who worked so hard over the past weeks to make this possible. Tonight was all the more wonderful for having Yellaka with us for the first performance in that new place of story on Kaurna, First Nations land, and playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer and family with us for the second. 8 more shows to go! #TheMajADL

10.01.2022 And we're back!!! We are thrilled to be the first theatre production in the refurbished and spectacular Her Majesty's Theatre; particularly with a show that reflects the times of the theatre's original opening in 1913. As cultural institutions re-open following COVID-19 closures, it is significant that the first audiences in the historic Her Majesty's will be children & families - an intergenerational community that are our audiences of now and the future.... Exploring life, loss, empowerment and love, The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy will be a restorative balm for audiences of all ages, as we return to communal culture. Sharing time, space and story. 05.01.2022 Inside an enchanting travelling theatre tent, discover a storyteller who shares a timeless tale. Cheeseboys home planet has been reduced to a bubbling fondue. Where are his parents? How did he become marooned on earth? Gypsies have given him a home, of sorts, but Cheeseboy is tugged this way and that by tides of strange longings and stranger powers. Imagine Oedipus meeting Edward Scissorhands, over a dish of exotic curds. With ingeniously simple lights and mirrors and set to lush original music by Quincy Grant, The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy will transport you to a fantastic world.

05.01.2022 We are thrilled to welcome Emma Luker to the cast of The Boy Who Talked to Dogs.

04.01.2022 More Cheeseboy flying on the ceiling of the Hall of Possibility. With Quincy Grant's beautiful music, sung by Emma Horwood.
