24.01.2022 Brené with Priya Parker on The Art of Gathering Gatherings crackle and flourish when real thought goes into them, when (often invisible) structure is baked into them, and when a host has the curiosity, willingness, and generosity of spirit to try. We learned so much about gathering and true connection from listening to this podcast. Take a listen and set some intention on how you connect with the people you love.... The Slipway Collective has set some REAL intentions for how we want people to feel when they come into our outdoor dining space. All very thought provoking!

We cant wait to repurpose this beautiful site ... all before Christmas!... #lakesentrance #slipway

14.01.2022 NEWS ALERT// Post-pandemic tourism to regional Australia: This could change the way Australians travel forever! An article in Traveller written by Ben Groundwater talks about how Australians will be hitting the highways and visiting regional areas. Ben talks about how people will be coming to drink at our pubs and eat at our cafes and stay in our B&Bs and peruse our shops and wander our streets and beaches. ... As communities we need to be OPEN & ready for these different types of tourists. A new type of local tourist is coming to discover our offerings and experience our culture and WILL be reporting back on it to their insta followers and friends. Ben warns us that they are going to be a bit of a nightmare. Therefore as #Gippsland lets make sure we do our absolute best to welcome tourists graciously so that people will feel the Gippsland We want people to Facebook the heck out of this place telling their friends how friendly and wonderful our part of the world is. As locals, you can help too ... simply by sharing a smile and a hello goes a long way. We are only as good as each other and were all in this together! This is our big opportunity!!! #getready

08.01.2022 Joe Rettino says this about the Slipway Collective ... #collaboration #trust #GSD This project is happening because people trust each other in this unique collaboration, and works to the strengths of peoples skills and talent. The idea was born over coffee with mates who love the power of collaboration. This is a unifying project that brings together talented artisan people to reactivate a disused industrial property. This Slipway site is significant in many ways and many re...asons. It was the original slipway work yard for Gippsland Ports to keep the important fishing fleet maintained. The site is an icon site for Lakes Entrance as it represents an opportunity to bring people together to celebrate and enjoy the provenance of great produce and arts. This project has the potential to turn Lakes Entrance into the place to be this summer and to enhance the natural assets of the town. Theres a lot of family holiday summer fun/nostalgia locked up in peoples hearts and minds. This project will unlock this potential and become a case study for many similar opportunities in Regional Australia. The Lakes Slipway project facilitates people working together for community outcomes and of course Getting Stuff Done. #gsd #lakesentrance #slipwaycollective #joerettino #collaboration #mindet #buildingcommunity
