Friday 4th September at 6pm Traditional Slovenian Kranjski and sauerkraut in a crusty roll. 20.01.2022 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a much loved member of our Slovenian Community, Hans Jakob Kettler. Born Duisburg, Germany on 5th January 1932. Died Adelaide, Australia on Friday 11th September 2020, aged 88 years.... Hans emigrated to Australia 17th April, 1954. Married Milena Kogoj 8th April, 1961. Loving husband of Milena. Much loved Dad of Linda and Paul, David and Lisa. Loving Opa of Matthew and Rebecca, Jeremy and Hayley, Jennifer, Samuel, Elijah and Hugh. Loving brother of Werner and Irene, Wolfgang and Sonja, and Friederich (deceased). Long time member of Slovenian Club Adelaide, which he enjoyed being part of, including contributing his time as Club secretary 1999 2001. Hans was well known for his BBQ’s and together with another fellow Slovenian member, Hans, they formed a formidable team known as the TWO HANS’ ! Hans will be loved and remembered always by his relatives and friends in Germany, Denmark, Slovenia, Italy and Australia, especially here in Adelaide where he will be very much missed by all. Funeral details: Monday 21st September at 2pm at Harrison Funerals 63 Golden Grove Road, Ridgehaven There will be plenty of room at the venue which means that physical distancing can be observed. This year’s theme is The role of place in an increasingly placeless world. Online, for the first time and with a fantastic line-up of speakers, the conference will be addressing an important issue of the day!

05.01.2022 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a much loved member of our Slovenian Community, Ivanka Jenko (nee Ivancic). Born Male Loe, Slovenia, 1st July 1938. Died Adelaide, Australia on Sunday 20th September 2020, aged 82 years. The most loving wife, to Mario, a much loved mother and mother-in-law to Suzie and Rick, Slav and Natalie and Frank and Carmen. Called Nana by her grandchildren and spouses Rebecca and Sam, Matthew and Gianna, Elizabeth and Joe, Ni...ck and Leah, Melissa and Chris, Katherine, Teresa, Patrick, Ashleigh, Vienna, Liam, Anton and her 13 great grandchildren living here in Adelaide and in Minnesota, USA. Loving sister and sister-in-law to Anton and Hedvika (deceased), Marija (deceased) and Jože Pahor and Alojz (deceased) and Ivanka. Life-long and Foundation member of Slovenian Club Adelaide. Ivanka will be loved, remembered and very much missed by all her relatives and friends in Australia, Slovenia, Italy, Canada and the USA. Due to COVID restrictions, the funeral is limited to invited family only. Monday 28th September at the Slovenian Church Hindmarsh. 10am Rosary and 10.30am Mass.
