25.01.2022 Tom Schneider is one of our talented Industrial Designers. He told us what it's like to work at SmartBar and where you'll find him when he's not working... 1. Fav part of job? It would have to be the diversity of projects. Ive enjoyed working on a range of different products for both automotive and marine industries. Its been a good challenge designing products that have such a variety of purpose. 2. Best memory? This is a tough one, there have been plenty of good working t...imes here. Work trips have always been enjoyable but I think designing our new pontoon system to meet all the Australia standards has been a good achievement for me. 3. Greatest strengths? Well I can tell you for free that self-analysis is not one of them. Id like to think my intuition and problem solving skills are up there. 4. In 5 years? Ideally Ill still be in a design role here, at the rate were are going with developing new products, that seems very likely. 5. Next off off your bucket list? Id like to pursue some more hobbies that revolve around photography, I enjoy taking photos of sports and wildlife. 6. Weekends? I like to get ocean side. Whether it be bodyboarding or out on the kayak, any sort of water activity is ok for me. 7. Dream car? Skoda Octaviaor maybe a Ferrari F40

21.01.2022 Craig loves to travel with wife Maureen in their Toyota Landcruiser 200 (2017) with a 186 Paramount Pop Top caravan. He got a SmartBar fitted about 2 years ago: The weight saving was a big factor to me. A big plus is no vibration compared to the steel bar on previous BT50. Clearance is good. The look grows on you and have recommended to a few people, a couple have bought one. Pretty easy to clean as well.

17.01.2022 Supporting local communities is an important part of SmartBar Australia and we are proud sponsors of Cycleworx DH a downhill mountain bike race team. Our very own Sales and Development Manager, Kieran (pictured below riding at the 2019 Mt Gambier Race!) is a part of this team who compete in the South Australian Downhill MTB series run by Inside Line MTB club, as well as national series races and many other MTB bike events. 7 of the 8 ride in the elite men class (top level in the state) and one is in the elite women's and at least one is regularly on the podium in the men's at most races! 17.01.2022 Best of luck to all the participants in today’s SmartBar Walk for a Veteran with PTS. Veteran & Emergency Services Personnel mental health is a serious issue in Australia, and around the world. In a recent study, it was found that almost three in four transitioned Australian Defence Force (ADF) members were estimated to have met criteria for a mental disorder at some stage in their lifetime either, prior to, during or after their military career; Anxiety (46.1 per cent) and a...lcohol disorders (47.5 per cent) were the most common classes of lifetime disorder; One-quarter of transitioned ADF members were estimated to have met criteria for PTSD in their lifetime (24.9 per cent); Approximately half of transitioned ADF and 2015 regular ADF sought help for their mental health within three months of becoming concerned about it. The Department of Veterans Affairs have initiated an Annual Health Check for the first 5 years after discharge. However they have documented that 25% of veterans will experience PTSD in their lifetime. Right now many transitioned ADF in our community are left untreated and unsupported. #walkforaveteran

14.01.2022 Bull bar protrusions are a hot topic following a SAPOL Facebook post which showed fishing rod attachments on a Pajero bull bar. If stopped by SA Police, this driver would be fined almost $500 (see image below). 'Protrusions' are anything sharp or ragged that stick out of your bull bar and they are illegal because they increase damage when involved in collisions with cars and pedestrians.
