25.01.2022 Consistent Wi-Fi has become one of life's necessities, particularly if you're working from home lately and/or have kids doing school remotely. We also see a fair few questions from Smartfire Owners on tuning their Wi-Fi for Smartfire. We've written up some tips on Wi-Fi router placement to improve performance throughout the house to keep everyone happy. Especially for folk who may doubt their IT abilities, we've also done an illustrated walkthrough of how to navigate and fin...d the bandwidth / channel width setting. This will sidestep situations where the Smartfire Controller isn't reliably receiving instructions on your settings! 23.01.2022 Delay in setup process! Hi, in the latest firmware we've noticed a small change of behaviour. If it doesn't know the local wifi network instead of cycling to setup mode (dark blue blinking) after 60 seconds it is taking 4:30 to settle on the dark blue setup mode. You can pair like normal via BT at that point. We are investigating why this change of behaviour has happened and if we get it back to the normal 60 seconds we'll issue a firmware update - which pop up as a reminder in the Smartfire app and walk you through the process.

21.01.2022 Hi folk, we use Google cloud services and they've had a global service outage this morning and from observation some weird issues started happening 2 days ago and are persisting, the big outage seems to be the cumulative effect of that. We (alongside millions of others) are hoping they get on top of it soon. New setups are the main thing effected, existing setups are working ok. 15.01.2022 Update2: Appears to be fixed. Temporary cloud provider outage. We've heard and validated that a handful of SF's are not connecting. Cloud provider has been advised. Symptom is rapid cyan blue blinking, single red flash, and repeats the cycle. Will have to wait and see. Update1: Isn't consistent, some devices are connecting fine. Already online devices appear to be unaffected.

14.01.2022 New firmware update walkthrough process coming to the Smartfire App next week. Based on a clever idea from a Smartfire Owner the system will prompt you when your Smartfire is online and needing a firmware update. It'll walk you through the process and avoid any issues with interruptions! There's lots of information and only lets you proceed when your Smartfire has great WiFi reception!

13.01.2022 Quick walkthrough on the new firmware update process. It means that you are pre-warned about a firmware update and guides you through what (and what not to) do during an update and only does the update when you press the thumbs up! Like many of our best features, this awesome idea was from the Smartfire Owner community. Cheers Hayden! Note, it is live for Android users on app version 2.3.80. 01.01.2022 Continuing our blog series on improving Wi-Fi performance, we've done a walkthrough of setting up a Wi-Fi Extender. An extender can really help folk who may have their Wi-Fi router near the front of the house because of ISP connections, but their smoker is halfway down the back yard with poor Wi-Fi coverage.
