24.01.2022 We are pleased to join with Zonta Club of Ipswich in 16 days of activism to raise awareness about violence against women. Schools, buildings and landmarks around the world are turning orange to show support for this cause. Zonta envisions a world where no woman or girl lives in fear of violence. #16Days #ZontaSaysNo #OrangeDay

22.01.2022 Our Year 11 Aviation students joined the Aerospace Industry Education Awards virtually today. Popcorn in hand, they are cheering on all the finalists! As a Aerospace Gateway to Industry School, students from St Mary's were invited to nominate for the awards. We are proud to be the only all girls school in Queensland, and the only school in Ipswich that is an Aerospace Gateway to Industry School. #AerospaceAwards2020 @AerospaceGISP

19.01.2022 Congratulations to the SMC Graduating Class of 2020! Today was their final day as high school students. We marked the occasion as a school community with a liturgy, final assembly and guard of honour. Tonight, they will celebrate with their families at their official Graduation Ceremony. We wish them all the very best, and will forever remember these resilient young women who achieved so much this year.

18.01.2022 Jennifer Howard MP dropped in today to deliver some letters she has written for our Year 12 students. In a happy coincidence, they were all in our hall, practising for their Final Assembly and Graduation so Jennifer could come and say hello to our graduands!

17.01.2022 Our Year 7 students are having a great time at camp this week! Personally, they are challenging themselves to step out of their comfort zone and try new thing. As a group, they are forming strong bonds which they will hold for the rest of high school!

16.01.2022 Our talented Year 10 Design and Technologies students have designed and laser cut a range of Christmas ornaments and gift tags. Extending the spirit of Christmas even further, money raised by the sale of these to staff will be donated to the Romero Centre to help those in need.

16.01.2022 Today in the Church, we celebrate the Feast of Christ the King in honour of Jesus as lord of all creation. It’s a great reminder of the constant presence of Christ in our lives, and the unwavering love Jesus shows for us. It takes us back to the foot of the cross, and then to the awe of the Resurrection. May we continue to live our lives for Christ, bringing glory to the Kingdom of Heaven.

12.01.2022 We are excited to see many community events returning for 2021! Join Ipswich Little Theatre society on Thursday 4 March in a fundraising event for Catholic Women's League. Admission is $25 and must be pre paid. Enjoy a night of great entertainment, tasty food and lots of fun, all while helping the local chapter of the Catholic Women's League!

12.01.2022 Our Christmas Appeal has come to an end for this year. On Wednesday we were able to donate 12 Christmas hampers to the St Vincent de Paul Society, who will deliver them to local families in need this Christmas season. It has been a challenging year for us all, and there are so many feeling the burden of Christmas, rather than the joy of the coming Lord. We are so grateful that we can give back to our loving community, and pray these groceries will bring love and joy into many homes this Christmas. If you would like to give, visit your local Vinnies or drop some donations off to your local parish! ‘I will always welcome joyfully any opportunity that comes my way to be of service to you’ St Vincent de Paul.
