25.01.2022 WEEK 8-It's Athletics Carnival Time! Wednesday 9th September, is our Whole School Athletics Carnival happening all day, with spectators welcome! Plus, our canteen The Bay Snack Shack will have food available and there will be an Ice Cream/Coffee Van on site. Friday 11th September is Walk Safely to School Day! We will be putting on a healthy breakfast courtesy of the City of Rockingham Local Government for everyone who walks or rides their bike/scooter to school!... Well done to all students and staff for their hard work in making this happen. The Student Services team have also been organising some fantastic activities for our End of Term Reward Day on Wednesday 16th December. Remember this is for all those students who have maintained regular attendance and their good standing this Semester. 20.01.2022 Today we held our whole school NAIDOC Day celebration which was kicked with a fantastic opening ceremony with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony performed by local Whadjuk Noongar elders. Students then got to spend the day with their peers from their Form class doing a variety of fun activities from learning traditional dances and about ancient knowledge of the stars, to cooking up a feed of damper and some tasty lemon myrtle cookies! 14.01.2022 Today during Form class we held a minute's silence to pay tribute to the men and women who have and are still serving our country for Remembrance Day. Year 11 students Tamika and Tori along with members of our Student Leadership Team also sold poppies to raise money for RSLWA. This afternoon we held an afternoon tea in the Library to launch the new Story Factory Short Story Collection written by students from Year 7-12. After an introduction from the Head of the English Lear...ning Area, Cory Jones and from Story Factory Coordinator Ben Penfold-Marwick, Year 7 student Holly Briggs did a fantastic job introducing each of the authors who read excerpts from their stories. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us celebrate the fantastic work of the students and Mr Penfold-Marwick in pulling this together. Good luck to our team racing in the Synergy EV Challenge this afternoon (Sat 24th October) at the Wanneroo International Kartway! Our electric vehicle has been painstakingly designed and built by a group of students with assitance from Mr Trott, Mr Spillane and Mr Clayworth, and is now ready to take on the other schools! 11.01.2022 NAIDOC DAY CELEBRATION-TODAY! Today, students will be immersed in rich cultural experiences that explore this year’s theme, ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’ which recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples right across the country have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The normal timetable will be suspended, and following an opening Assembly with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country performed by a local elder, students will parti...cipate in a range of different activities across the day with their Form group. At the start of the day instead of heading to their normal Period 1 class students will need to go their Form room where your Form teacher will mark the roll and escort you to the Assembly area near the School amphitheatre. If you are late on the day you will need to go to Student Services to sign in. Following the Assembly, you will head off with your form teacher to your first activity of the day starting in Period 2. Recess, Form and lunch will operate as normal with a special NAIDOC themed playlist on Student Radio during recess and lunch. From learning traditional dances, listening to the stories of local elders, studying ancient First Nations knowledge of the sky, cooking up a feed of damper in the fire pit and many more fantastic activities there will be something for everyone! #thesafetybayway #NAIDOC2020 #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

Our on-site @tudorschooluniforms shop will be open from 8am - 4pm on the 28th and 29th of January, and then will revert to it's normal Wednesday and Friday mornings, from 7.30 - 9.30am.... Well done to our Interschool Athletics Carnival team of students from Year 7-12 supported by our Phys Ed staff members on a great day out representing #thesafetybayway with pride! As a school we came third overall in our division, with Skye Royall taking out Senior Champion Girl and Renae Ireland taking out runner up Year 9 Champion Girl. ... We capped off Book Week 2020 with some of our staff members sporting incredible book character looks! Plus, some of our lower school English classes were lucky enough to have a great creative writing workshop with The Literature Centre. 04.01.2022 Year 12 Valedictory-Thursday 29 October We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the class of 2020 at our Year 12 Valedictory Ceremony starting at 7pm sharp next Thursday 29th October at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre! Due to venue capacity limits as part of the continued Stage 4 COVID-19 State Government restrictions there will be a restricted number of tickets per family (Year 12 students don't need a ticket). ... The Valedictory Ceremony will include recognition of our Head Boy Isaiah Akavi who sadly passed away earlier this year. Plus, here's some other important information for the night for all our students, parents and carers: Year 12 students need to arrive by 6PM Students need to wear black pants/skirt with a white collared shirt You will receive a text message letting you know when the tickets will be available for collection from the front office We are currently looking into streaming/recording the Ceremony and will let you know more details about accessing that soon There will be a rehearsal for Year 12 students on Thurs 29th at 10am at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre If students are unable to make it to the rehearsal they need to let the school know ahead of time #ImportantAnnouncement #year12valedictory

Thank you to Symon, Konnah and Shane from the Paraplegic Benefit Fund Australia for sharing your stories of living with spinal cord injuries and spreading the message of the importance of road safety with support from RAC WA! This is part of the #keysforlife pre-driver education program we run each year for Year 10 students in conjunction with Road Safety and Drug Education in WA.
