25.01.2022 Adding some chilli pan mee in our quest to eat everything in sight.

24.01.2022 The place is devoted to 2 things. Pizza and beer. It's like they knew we were coming.

24.01.2022 Crazy array of seafood on offer at a market break during our day of checking out monkey island. @ Cn Gi

23.01.2022 What happens when you leave basil unattended for a few weeks? It takes over our chilli garden. For shame! Quite the harvest though.

21.01.2022 The pizza was just as good as the beer.

21.01.2022 Goth eggs.... They're experiencing an eggistential crisis.

19.01.2022 A winning, perk you up, cures what ails you meal. Pho sure!

14.01.2022 Can I just say, how awesome are these smokers? They're cranking out some pretty good brisket at Burnin' Pit in KL. Really loving how BBQ has gone global.

08.01.2022 Nifty little setup we stumbled upon. Definitely more portable than our offset lol

05.01.2022 Back in KL for the best curry noodles ever.... The cook recognized us straight-away (we dropped in a few weeks ago) and even remembered what we ordered last time. @ Kedai Kopi Dan Makanan Tai Kong

03.01.2022 It feels like a raiding party lol Somehow they're able to prepare coffee, pho and whatnot all while balancing on their boats.... Not a single smoker though lol

03.01.2022 No judgement.... After a seemingly endless supply of bahn mi, pho and other Vietnamese goodness, sometimes you just need a good burger. @ The Hungry Pig

01.01.2022 Here it is, from all the way back in January of 2019, our very first order. Luis from @asadorbne was kind enough to give us a go. Or, he was just awfully hungry. Either way, we've learned a lot since then; both about the type of food we want to cook and the type of folks we want to cook it for. More than that, we've learned a lot about ourselves. Thanks to Uber Eats, meal delivery kits and the constant assault on whatever small amount of free-time people are able to carve out... for themselves, one could argue that schlepping out to dinner somewhere, particularly somewhere you've never been before, just doesn't make any sense. It's inconvenient as hell, you run the risk of limbering up your wallet for something that's mediocre at best, and you've got to put on pants. Practically speaking, why bother? My guess is that the best meals you've had out are the ones where there's a buzz in the air, a sense that you've stumbled onto something special. There's conversation, laughter, the clinking of glasses and a plate full of food that you know was put together by someone who gives a damn. The best meals you've had are the ones that speak to the part of our DNA that remembers what it feels like to sit around a fire and break bread with folks that may not think or act like you do. But, you do it anyway because the alternative means facing the darkness alone. Restaurants, or at least the kind of restaurant we want to create, are the modern-day fire around which people from all walks of life can sit, eat, drink and be merry while laughing off the howling and snarling of the wolves that are waiting out in the shadows. So, where does that leave us, your humble providers of smoked goodness? Y'all might've noticed that we haven't been back to Wandering Cooks since we had our overseas adventure. That's a feature, not a bug. Long story short, we're on the lookout for a place to call our own, a venue we can call home. First and foremost, what we're looking for is somewhere that is a reflection of our desire to be part of, and add to, a community. Exciting times are ahead. Watch this space!
