25.01.2022 A smaller version of the cake that was originally ordered as sadly Lachlan had to cancel his party due to the current Coronavirus situation. I hope that he still enjoys a wonderful day and look forward to making the full version once all of this has blown over. Huge thanks to all of my customers who have either rescheduled or just scaled down their orders rather than just cancelling!

25.01.2022 Cakes and cupcakes from last weekend. A modern twist on a traditional Black Forest cake for a 60th celebration and a rose chocolate cake and 30 rose cupcakes (3 of them gluten and lactose free!) for a 90th birthday picnic!

22.01.2022 Cakes from last weekend: a very simple but elegant vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream and matching cupcakes for a classy 21st birthday celebration and a spooky white chocolate mud cake, also with strawberry buttercream, for a Halloween birthday party. Completely different cakes but I loved them both!

18.01.2022 Sorry for not posting much recently - I had some time off over the holidays enjoying some quality time with my family. Straight back to it this week though with a simple anti-gravity red velvet cake. At 12 inches this was a BIG cake and took 4 packets of Maltesers, 3 1/2 packets of m&ms and 3 1/2 packets of chocolate fingers! Chocolate overload! I also had fun practising my piping skills with some pretty cupcakes for the teachers on their first day back at school. As they had to contend with an all day power cut I think they were needed!

17.01.2022 Looks like a simple enough cake, doesnt it? However, this was one of those cakes that seemed to go wrong from start to finish: I initially baked the wrong size cake , then the humidity yesterday wreaked havoc with my buttercream and the fondant board and then I got a text from my customer just after she had collected it to say that the cake had touched against the sides of the box on the way home, which resulted in damage to the drip and me having to make an emergency trip to her house to fix it! Got there in the end though and pretty happy with the final result. I hope that the birthday girl has a wonderful sweet sixteenth birthday and thoroughly enjoys her vanilla funfetti doughnut cake

16.01.2022 Hugely busy week at Snackalicious with 4 cakes going out this weekend. All very different but very happy with how they all turned out. Now I need a nap!

16.01.2022 EDIT: I am now fully booked until 25th June. The weekend of 25th/26th July is also booked out. Thanks everyone and apologies to those I havent been able to squeeze in! Hi all, as restrictions start being lifted I am getting more enquires and orders and now have bookings as far ahead as September, October, November and even December! I hate to turn anyone away but am limited as to how many cakes I can actually produce in one weekend. If you are considering ordering through me please do give me as much notice as possible. The weekend of 20th June seems especially popular and while Ill try to fit in as many orders as possible please remember that your booking isnt confirmed or that date held for you until you have paid your deposit. 16.01.2022 Catering for a staff lunch today: basil, tomato and mozzarella baguettes with pesto; mature cheddar, Branston pickle, red onion, tomato baguettes with pea shoots; Asian chicken cold rolls; veggie cold rolls with mango and red cabbage; tuna and cucumber sushi; sweet potato, avocado and cucumber sushi; beetroot, mango and avocado sushi; Halloumi and Greek salad wraps and chicken and bacon Caesar salad wraps!

15.01.2022 Hi all, this week should have been an exceptionally busy one for me but due to the recent surge in Coronavirus cases yesterday all three of the bookings that I had for this weekend were either postponed or cancelled. This is completely understandable if you are suddenly unable to hold your event due to the sudden change in restrictions but please, please, if you can, postpone rather than cancel! I am only a small business and this has a massive impact on me. I know that ...it is hard to know what the future holds in these uncertain times but please also give me as much notice as possible if you have to do this as I often make some decorations well in advance. If you have a booking with me in the next few weeks and are considering postponing then please get in touch ASAP! If you would still like to book in or rebook a date then I will try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible should restrictions suddenly change again but please bear in mind that I am often booked up several weeks in advance. This has been a horrible year for everyone, let’s hope that they get this new outbreak under control quickly and we get back to something resembling normality soon. 03.01.2022 This week has been all about buttercream, though on two very different cakes! A cute little sloth cake for a 10-year-old sloth fan and a champagne and vanilla rose gold drip cake for a special 50th celebration. Macarons were vanilla and raspberry. One lovely husband earned major brownie points for ordering this for his wifes birthday!

03.01.2022 The past few weeks have been so busy that I haven’t even had time to post pictures! Twenty treat boxes and 64 thank you cookies went out the door this week. That’s a total of 30 brownies, 98 sugar cookies, 40 cupcakes, 30 macarons, 40 pieces of fudge and 30 meringue pops (plus mini meringues)! I saw some very happy teachers and was even lucky enough to receive some of my own cookies. Feeling a bit tired but I love it!! Just 2 cakes and 30 more cupcakes to go this week!

Carrot cake for a change! Emerald City all hand made. Characters supplied by the customer. I couldnt stop Somewhere Over the Rainbow playing in my head while I was making this!

01.01.2022 It’s funny how each week’s orders often share a common theme, completely by coincidence. This weekend has been all about cupcakes! I’ve baked well over 100 of them. All completely different but still all cupcakes. So glad that they are quick to bake - makes it so much easier to whip up a fresh batch when you realise that you’ve forgotten to include the butter in the last batch and it’s still sitting in the microwave!
