22.01.2022 Do you recognise Bakhu, a wonderful Mongolian Throat Singer who has performed at our festival? What a haunting performance.

20.01.2022 Folky remembrance 6/8 #getyourfolkon They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning,... We will remember them. Lest we forget. 13.01.2022 Folky Longing 7/8. During the Folk Festival the streets of St Albans would be filled with the ebb and flow of festival crowds sauntering from venue to campsite to venue. The usually quiet roads would be packed with children on bikes, with instruments, drink bottles and hats slung over their backs, navigating around slow moving cars. Perched on the grass verges,in camping areas and around picnic tables you can find the next generation of musicians testing their skills and ben...efiting from the largess of the festival bonhomie. In intervals these young buskers may abandon their posts clutching coins as they head for treats of cold icies or sweating bags of lollies. These young, and often seasoned, Junior Folkies hone their craft in the bush poetry, song writing and yarn telling sessions. They create craft, costumes and play act as pirates, learn Morris and Maypole dancing, chase bubbles in the breeze, climb the playground, scramble up trees, or explore yoga and tie dye. See more

11.01.2022 Feeling Folky 5/8 #getyourfolkon Often the energy from the audience is the difference between a good and a great performance. How wonderful that we have great audiences at St Albans.

05.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to our fabulous Folky fathers, and to the wonderful people who fulfil fatherly roles in many forms. Bardcore music covers contemporary music in Medieval style... it is also genre defying. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IUOvrg3K6xc
