20.01.2022 Such a cool piece from Flow Mountain Bike back in 2018

16.01.2022 Bringing this to your attention, Hornsby Council is inviting feedback on the ‘Draft Biodiversity Conservation Strategy’ closing end of business in two days, Friday 13 November 2020. https://secureservercdn.net//draft-Biodiversity-Conservati See information below. (This is in addition to the 'Draft Walking and Cycling Strategy' recently written about, see the SNORC website: https://www.snorc.org.au/)....Continue reading

13.01.2022 Placing this here as a reminder, if you have not yet commented then this is your opportunity to help facilitate a change. Please have a detailed read of the below information, although MTB is mentioned, it is not considered to be essential, and for reference to the other draft strategy mentioned, it too hardly considers MTB....we’ll be posting about that soon. In short, if we as a community are not included at every step/strategy like this, then, we will cease to see a secure... future for the growth of Mountain Biking in our region....and beyond. The funny thing is we speak to a lot of other heads of other scenes across SYD, Central Coast, Blue Mtbs, Nth Beaches and the Southern Shire and we all suffer the same lack of understanding from Councils as to what sport MTB is.... Perhaps a stand alone Mountain Bike specific strategy is needed, what do you think? Perhaps we also need to be more vocal about our sport and it’s needs, such as better infrastructure, safe access and a broader officially legal trail network, thoughts on that on?

10.01.2022 Hey SNORC’ers, We are sharing this post today on behalf of the North Epping community who are looking to secure their area a purpose built asphalt pump track. There have been a few incidents by where the youth have build some BMX jumps illegally born out of boredom and looking for somewhere to ride their bikes.... Please have a good read of this information and help out by signing this petition. Ultimately a facility like this will help numerous factors that are appealing to both the residents and the council, benefits such as: - A simple effective solution. - Sustainable - Very low maintenance - Appealing to several user groups: - BMX - Mountain Bikes - Dirt Jumps Bikes - Skateboarders - Scooter - Promotion of a health active lifestyle. For a councils perspective, an asphalt pump track this will significantly reduce and mitigate the risk of illegal trail building. This will be a great addition to the riding experience on the leafy north shore. Jump on board and give this guys a hand. Thanks, SNORC

08.01.2022 A great post by Brigitte Stoppel and a great article. Yet another recent incident at a council meeting by where the riding community was not heard. Please take the time to read the content of the article, no doubt many aspects we can relate to.

07.01.2022 A great find from local pinner Banjo! Who knew the esteemed Mr Ruddock was such a pinner! ... We need to make him and honorary SNORC Member! We just want to say that it is great to witness the incredible hype and excitement over @barecreekbikepark Wishing the crew over there all the best, proper exciting times, I personally can’t wait till it dries out, please stay off until then. And well done to the @beachescouncil for helping provide a quality free to use public Mountain Bike facility. To the patrons, please respect the trail etiquette at all times; - be kind to other parks users, the trails are there to share. - this also means respecting the park rules and not using the facility when it is wet, simple as that We urge everyone to keep working together, we are all the pieces to the puzzle, it’s our community that makes the wheels turn. Let’s keep pedalling. LINK IN BIO If you on Instagram please jump over and follow @snorcmtb Dan Smith Club President #mtb #sydney #mtbcommunity
