11.05.2022 Happy mother's day to all the beautiful mum's out there, including the furry kind. You are all amazing!!!

27.04.2022 Meet Ragnor. This handsome little fella decided to eat a lily plant. Did you know lily plants are toxic for cats?... All parts of the plants are toxic including the pollen! Simply brushing up against the plant can cause issues. As cats then groom themselves ingesting the toxin. Cats like Ragnor can successfully recover from lily toxicity, only if they are treated early. Signs of toxicity include Lethargy Vomiting Yellow or orange staining on your cats coat. Wobbly when walking Seizures If you have a feline friend, the best advice we can give is to not have lily plants - whether you think your cat may or may not be interested. Ragnor spent a few days in hospital and has made a great recovery. He is one lucky kitty. We loved having lots of cuddles with him! If you are concerned about your cat having lily toxicity, please contact your vet immediately.

03.04.2022 *** UPDATE 6-4-22 We've found a home! Thank you so much for all your help and support. We are super grateful. *** Loving, beautiful, gentle dog seeking a new home. We are wondering if there is someone in our community that is able to help us find a new home for the beautiful boy Gryf.... Gryf is a wonderful, beloved and lovely dog who is great with other dogs and new people. He has been with his current family for 4 years. Unfortunately he has started to attack sheep and needs to be relocated to town life, which we are sure he will be able to do happily and smoothly. Our wish for him is that he finds an amazing new home but also we would love to be able to see him occasionally and if possible, be able to provide him with the ongoing vet care that Snowy vets is able to provide. We've listed some things we are looking for in the new owner - Must Haves: Town location Secure Back Yard Plenty of Exercise Loving/Great pet owners Love to haves: Another dog as a companion Local location - Cooma/Jindy etc Don't mind us visiting him or communicating with them in an ongoing way Bring him to Snowy Vets for care. For further information please get in contact with us by emailing [email protected]

22.01.2022 Grass seeds are more than just annoying they can become painful foreign bodies, causing infection and requiring veterinary treatment. We have been seeing a lot of patients with grass seeds in ears but the most recent stand out was multiple grass seeds and a Grass hopper! Some grass seeds have sharp tips and backwards-facing barbs, which are unfortunately perfect for getting embedded in your pet’s tissues and migrating in deeply.... Grass seeds most frequently get stuck in animal’s eyes, paws, ears or airways. Common symptoms can include: A puffy, red, weeping eye, which is too sore to open. A sore swollen area between your pet’s toes, which your pet may lick a lot. A sore ear canal, often with discharge. Unusual respiratory sounds, such as nostril snorting (which may be accompanied by nasal discharge), gagging or persistent coughing. If your pet is showing any of these symptoms during grass seed season, it’s best to book an appointment with one of our vets as soon as possible. If caught early enough, we may be able to remove the seed in a consultation using small surgical forceps. If your pet is in a lot of pain, or the seed has migrated more deeply, your pet will need an anaesthetic for surgical treatment. Please contact our team if you have any other questions about grass seed injuries.
