06.01.2022 We were having a picnic under the shade this afternoon and our young toddlers seemed to really loved it! Today we had weetbix slice for afternoon snack! And we have to admit that is one of our children’s favourite healthy snack! ***************************... Here is an easy weetbix slice recipe that you can even make at home: Makes 30 bars Takes 5 minutes Bakes 20 minutes 6 weetbix biscuits any brand will do 2 cups desiccated coconut 1 cups wholemeal self-raising flour 2 tablespoons cocoa 2 tablespoons maca powder (optional) 1 cup sultanas cup pepitas cup flaxseeds 250g packet of butter, melted 2 teaspoons vanilla essence cup honey, plus extra to drizzle Preheat oven to 180C. Line a roasting tray with baking paper, ready to go. Crush the weetbix up until it’s fine, then stir through the coconut, flour, cocoa, and maca powder (if using). Add the sultanas, pepitas and flaxseeds and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, melt the butter, stir through the vanilla essence and cup of honey and mix well. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and combine well. Spoon the mix into the prepared tray and press down firmly with the back of a large metal spoon. Pack it in well, then smooth the top and press down along the sides. Bake for about 20 minutes, until just starting to turn golden. Allow to cool in the pan, then refrigerate until completely firm. Cut into bars to serve. Wrap bars in alfoil, ready to freeze and pop into the lunchbox when needed. They will keep in the freezer for around one month. They will also keep in an airtight jar in the fridge for about a week. If they last that long. Enjoy x

04.01.2022 Dear all, Together with the Nation we are participating in the National Pyjama day. On Friday 19th July 2019 we are encouraging all to wear their Pyjamas to the centre as we raise funds for this great cause. National Pyjama Day is all about wearing your best bedtime attire to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care.... By wearing your favourite PJ’s and by making a donation, you’ll be making a difference to the lives of children in Foster Care. With the money raised from National Pyjama Day, you’ll be helping us offer learning skills to more than 1000 children, fund educational resources and help provide stable, positive relationships. So this July put on your favourite PJ's, make a donation and everyone can get involved. https://the-pyjama-foundation.giveeasy.org//snugglepotts/
