24.01.2022 As an #ArmyInMotion, we constantly to prepare our teams to support the #YourADF joint force now, and in the future. #OurPeople from the Combined Arms Training C...entre - Australian Army have been busy conducting live-fire training, in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. During the training, the teams provided support to the recent Joint Fires Team Commander’s course and Initial Employment Training course for #AusArmy’s newest artillery soldiers. This training ensures our next generation of Army leaders are ready now for their roles within combat brigades.

23.01.2022 Another excellent Combined Arms Training Centre - Australian Army delivered activity, with 53 Battery seen here in action firing in support of the latest The School of Armour course. This scenario saw trainees involved in a mechanised infanty and main battle tank assault, supported by guns, within the Puckapunyal Training Area and once again reinforces the vital importance of realistic live fire combined arms training. CATC’s training is conducted in accordance current COVID-19 guidelines in a socially responsible manner.

The PESA consi...sts of a 10 kilometre pack march, fire and movement serials, and set up and firing drills for the RBS-70 short range missile system. This rigorous activity, run by the Australian Army - School of Artillery, and is a part of the GBAD course to ensure #AusArmy soldiers are physically fit, mentally tough and combat ready to protect Australia’s airspace. #GoodSoldiering #OurPotential

04.01.2022 What’s better than a gunline? Our M113 armoured personnel carriers at the gunline! Lieutenants on their mechanised regimental officer course (MROC) with The... School of Armour are working together with our #gunners from Australian Army - School of Artillery. The trainees have been exposed to a range of artillery tasks, including tactical emplacement of a gunline, and clearing the M777 howitzer before observing 53 Bty conduct a live-fire mission. This aspect of the course further develops the officer’s appreciation of kinetic effects on the battlefield as a part of combined arms team. #GoodSoldiering #OurPotential #artillery

03.01.2022 Our latest Joint Fires Wing IET Gunners have commenced their Gunner Grade 1 Course and can be seen here conducting one of several assessments that are required before they can deploy with 53 Battery for their live fire culmination exercise. 02.01.2022 Our latest Air and Missile Defence trainees recently took part in a live fire All Arms Air Defence (AAAD) practice. Tasked to engage an off the shelf drone with a 2 foot wingspan, our soldiers certainly had their work cut out for them with the target moving upwards of 100km/h at times. That said, the "Big sky, small target" equation wasn't in the drones favour this shoot, with multiple hits and a destroyed target the end result. 02.01.2022 53 Battery has been busy delivering support to our Joint Fires Wing courses, and on this occasion it was responding to calls for fire from student JFT Commanders. With the introduction of new technology and instructional methods as part of the Combined Arms Training Centre - Australian Army training transformation mission, this LFX was a prudent reminder that live fire training remains a key component in the delivery of realistic combined arms training.
