12.01.2022 Children need more free time, more hands-on play, more physical activities that expose them to tactile/proprioceptive/vestibular sensory input, more engagement in imaginative and creative expression through arts/crafts/construction play, and more meaningful activities that involve fine motor skill/hand-eye coordination development. There is better prospect for a well developed, integrated, regulated, capable adult to emerge on the other side of childhood if we reduce screen time and increase real time interaction with the tangible environment. This is just one example of how sensory deprivation through excess screen time can impact children all the way into adulthood.
