25.01.2022 NSW State election is looming. Every effort to remove the neo-Liberal state government must be made. Only unity amongst other parties can help achieve this goal https://www.theguardian.com//nsw-election-2019-sydneys-gro

21.01.2022 Election day blues..

15.01.2022 Council election message The Turkish community is my passion and drive which gave me strength all these years I would like to thank everyone who supported and ...voted for me and also like to thank all those who came with intentions to vote but couldn't due to boundary changes, I stood in Regents park Ward which was a first for me, because I didn't want to split our votes with other Turkish candidates, this election was really hard because elected councillor went from 5 to only 3 councillors to be elected and the Auburn Ward was split into 3 which meant vote were also split. I would like to firstly thank my Group who worked so hard, Neslihan Apaydin and Fatima Mogul, I would also like to thank the very few leaders of our community who assisted with polling day, Sebahtin Hoca, Gokten Kilic, Mehmet Evin, Karadeniz Turk folknur true leaders of our community, as for the other leaders didn't respond to any of my calling and thank you to all the many businesses who allowed posters in their shops fronts and houses you are all amazing God Bless. The Turkish community is my passion and my drive and I worked so hard over the years to help us make our mark and I love each and everyone of you, but it was very disappointing to see some highly regarded members of our community handing out voting leaflets for other parties and no support to any of the Turkish candidates. My team and friends for life on polling day worked so hard you are all forever in my heart. A special thank you to you all, Dilara, Ece, Deniz, Yeliz, Ebru, Seyda, Bilge, Geren, Cidem, Samantha, Zeynep, Maya, Selda, Belgin, Ercan, Tracy, Khan, Melike, Rabia, Hasret, Zekiye, Teslime, Sultan, Atila, Fatma, Phung, Zang, David, Helen, Ralf, Karima,Hatice, Shirley, and a special thanks to Ahmet our runner who delivered our food and water all day long, I organised a meeting months ago at Auburn Turkish welfare to share my knowledge and seek advise from community leaders in which no one showed up, how sad we. We were unsuccessful in electing a Turkish councillor on both wards, even though we should be the most influential community in this area we have no representative, so it's all of our loss.

13.01.2022 The 'M' word: People forget in reality that Muslim communities are very small minority. Less than 2% of the population in Australia. Though the shock jocks woul...d have us believing 'they' are taking 'over', taking 'our' women, taking 'our' jobs.. 'They'... The other - are also unfairly demonised for the acts of a very few. Now this atrocity has happened and an already suffering minority that is marginalised and demonised is suffering even more. There are are a very small number of Muslim extremists.. They are a minority of the minority.. However they somehow have become the subject that often feeds the shock jocks and tabloid 'The Telegraph' type of reporting. They scream about fundamentalists and extremists. The Telegraph headlines today are about the shootings and the horror of it all. However it seems here in Australia we have extremists running news papers like the 'The Telegraph', aka Murdoch Press and they're on the airwaves and in parliament inciting hatred and bigotry. Look at what they have incited now. The politics of of hatred has contributed to all of this. There is blood on all their hands. From the the Murdoch press to Pauline Hanson that racist bigotted horror Sen. Frazer Anning. They all have something to answer for - for one of the worst mass murder tragedies in modern times.. by an Australian extremist. When will they understand "We hate some persons because we do not know them; and will not know them because we hate them". Charles Caleb Colton See more
