24.01.2022 Making fun of someones profession / job title is not on If you work in social media, youve probably been mocked a few times from people who dont understand what you do. Gosh the comments I have heard... or being laughed at in a cafe for taking photos of food for content ... In fact, Im so used to it now I shrug it off as I know what I do helps businesses grow and gets them results online But why do people feel the need to laugh at someones profession? Is it because they dont understand it? Or to them it seems easy? Either way, its not cool So to anyone out there who has been teased or been made to feel embarrassed about their profession, I am here to remind you to stand proud. You made an awesome decision to work in that field and you should let that be heard far and wide See more

Yep! That quick! ... This is why I consider your Instagram bio just like your elevator pitch Because you only have a short time (150 characters) to convince someone why they should hit that follow button and start building a meaningful connection with your brand So, not sure if your bio is hitting the mark? Here are some things to ensure your bio includes: You have keywords in the name section of your profile rather than repeating your handle name (think of the name area like Google, what keywords would people type in the search engine to find you). You clearly explain who you are and what you do to help solve a problem. You have a call to action on what you want the user to do next after reading your bio (Maybe you want them to download your free E-book? Or subscribe to your mailing list by offering a sweet deal). You have a website link that makes it a smooth process for a person to find what they’re looking for on your website. Your contact details are visible and up to date (these aren’t something people should have to go searching for on your website). You have highlights that are on brand, shares your personality, gives a quick insight into your products / services and what is important to you. 23.01.2022 Stage 4 restrictions = Both kids at home full-time for the next six weeks We are trying to remain positive, yet understand and accept that its a challenging time for everyone in Victoria right now. It was heartbreaking to tell my eldest son that kindy is closed - He cried and spoke about how much he will miss his friends. I told him that its important for us to all do our part to stop the spread and keeps others safe. ... Today, I have had to make some decisions to do whats best for my children, my partner and myself during this time I have come to the conclusion that coaching sessions will now be moved to the evenings with one availability per day 8pm - 9pm Monday to Friday. This way - my partner is home, the babies are asleep and theyre not walking into our Zoom sesh every three seconds asking for a snack If you have kids at home with you during the session, that is completely fine We are a child friendly business and completely understand! My stories will be a little less and probably involve me hiding in a cupboard to share a tip or update with you But dont you worry! The FREE Insta tips will still show up on my feed in the meantime. Im am still taking on new Social Media Management clients as I have my Creative Assistant working with me and I will be working in the evenings once I can hand the kids over to my partner when he gets home. I apologise for any inconvenience regarding my coaching calls but its whats best for my family during this time . 22.01.2022 I’ve always been a ‘forever student’ Ever since I can remember, I wanted to learn and continue to learn more I annoyed my parents as a little girl by asking but why? Or how? I just needed to know EVERYTHING about what interested me. Some of you might not believe this but I was even put up a grade in primary school.... Education is what’s important to me and I believe there is ALWAYS room for improvement no matter how much you think you know. And working in the ever changing digital marketing landscape? Well, you can’t be left behind if you want to get the best results for your clients I’ve always struggled with mindset and my confidence levels, so I have invested money and time into improving these areas also (if you couldn’t tell ). So with that, I wanted to share some of the ways I have upskilled in 2020 so far: I completed my degree in Business majoring in Communications and PR. I’m working with a confidence coach who has helped me see all of my potential. I had an Instant Clarity session with @rachel_kurzyp who showed me how to better understand my why and identify my top values in business. I’ve completed mentoring with Jarrah from @sbj.studios for FB Ads which is now a new service I offer to clients and feel confident in. I bought the Business Bundle from @thebundleco.co which has over 90 courses from leaders killing it in their industry. I’m currently doing the How to Create your own E-course course by @natalia_benson and recently finished the Pinterest Power course by @therisingceo . 20.01.2022 A little proud moment for my first ever FB ads client For the last 6 months, I have been learning the ins and outs of FB ads through mentoring, courses, online research and by doing After so much learning through creating FB ads for my own business, I was confident enough to approach one of my clients and offered them free management of this service so I could put my skills to test. ... And bam Within one week? We spent only $64 and got a return of $3227! Their FIRST ever FB ad! The best thing about this story, is they are a brick and mortar store in a small regional town. They have a website for online ordering which also gives the option for delivery and click and collect services. Im so happy with this result for my client, they turned over an extra $3227 for the week through creating a FB ad targeting a cold audience in their location.

Because you are ready for something new, you no longer have a passion for your full-time job and you want to spend more time with your new little fam! And gahhhh - this is a massive achievement girl! Bigger than you have ever given yourself credit for Before you begin entrepreneur life, here are six things I believe you should know:... 1 First of all, YOU are going to work harder than you ever have before and during those really early days, its going to be for very little. 2 YOU are not going to be the right fit for everyone and thats ok. Just know, you are not the entire problem but always reflect what you could have done better. 3 DONT undercharge yourself god dam it lady! 17.01.2022 If there was one word to describe last week in business life? It would be HARD My littlest lamb came down with croup and it threw my whole week outta whack. I had to cancel coaching sessions ... I was behind in scheduling content I met deadlines with just seconds to go I at times felt like this was unprofessional even though everyone was so understanding Being a parent and running a biz is no walk in the park it makes it even harder when youre ridin solo in biz life and have no one to sail the ship when youve got your lil boy to look after. What I learnt from this? Well, its simple shit like this is going to happen. Its out of my control and the health of my family is ALWAYS going to come first If my son needs to lay on my chest all week to keep him calm, thats what is going to have to happen. Yesterday on my stories, I apologised for being quiet on the gram last week and was met with so many messages saying never say sorry for putting family first and they are SO right so Im taking that apology right back I am JUST so thankful to have the sweetest clients who all have children and understand these things can happen Now on with the new week, new month and to get on top of everything See more

15.01.2022 Some people are STILL choosing to buy followers rather than create a REAL audience ITS NOT ON I notice this mostly with people wanting to become Influencers and misleading brands to work with them by pretending they have lots of followers when they are actually bought ... But sadly, I have noticed some Social Media Managers are buying their followers!! And I worry if they are purchasing their clients followers too and the brand thinks they are finally gaining awareness but in reality its FAKE GAHHH! However, this can be avoided and spotted quite easily once you know what to look out for and as a business looking to engage an Influencer to help sell your products you deserve to know if the person you are potentially going to engage has a real audience or a bought one. 12.01.2022 Here is something you probably didnt know about me In 2012, I was lucky enough to be selected to board the Young Endeavour voyage from Gladstone. A 10 day youth leadership program that helped shaped me and proved to me that I can do absolutely anything I put my mind to and behind all that insecurity I was born to be a leader. ... Even though Im prone to sea sickness every single time I step foot on a boat I decided I was still going to apply and take on this life changing experience For 3 full days, I had motion sickness, it was awful and I was glad to see the end of it The sailing training ship was mentally and physically tough! My biggest challenge was climbing the 30 metre mast to set the sails I cried the first time as I didnt realise how afraid of heights I was until I had just a harness connecting me to the mast. I will never forget the emotions I went through up there..plus it was raining and the waves were angry that day but I didnt want to let my team Red Sea down. I learnt: How to set sails How to navigate a ship Work off 4 hours sleep during night watch How to be mentally tough That I can live without technology How to be a leader I also beat my fear of heights and by the end of the voyage, I was volunteering to climb the mast! And lets not forget about the incredible humans I made long life friends with especially my friend Ange. It was seriously one of the most challenging but rewarding things Ive been lucky enough to do! If there is ever an opportunity to do something that will mentally challenge you, dont think about it, just do it! It will change your life See more

Unless you have millions of followers like the Kardashians, you are NOT going to get away with just posting an image followed by a cute heart emoji as the caption A good caption is the cherry on top to your visual as it helps stop your audience from scrolling the gram and gets them reading and engaging with your content instead. So how can you write a better caption for your next post? Start your caption with an opening statement that will grab the readers attention. Ensure that your posts are adding value to your audience through tips, statistics and relatable content. Keep the style of your post in line with your brand personality. 10.01.2022 Lets talk about a very popular topic right now copycats Before I start, I know being copied sucks Ive had it happen to me but I dont jump to social media to tell the world Because, well it adds no value to my audience and unfortunately, thats just business for you. Sadly, its a dog eat dog world in business. People are going to take your idea and sometimes they are even going to make it 10x better than your offering ... For example, Snapchat existed first and Instagram took the idea and added their own version with My stories Which now gets more views a day than Snapchats daily users. Snapchat existed first but it now doesnt compete anywhere near my stories So really, its always about adapting... if your idea gets taken, take it back and make it better before someone else does Instead of dwelling and telling the world, turn it into a positive on how you can improve the product or service. And if someone has copied your captions etc, well thats just rude and plagiarism... slide into their DM and kindly ask them to take it down. See more

09.01.2022 In this time of uncertainty, it is absolutely incredible to watch how the community is coming together to support one another. If a small business is still offering services just in a different way, I highly encourage you to still purchase from them during this time This week, I have been in contact more than ever with my clients and have been in absolute awe of the measures and innovative approaches they have put in place to protect their customers all while still b...eing able to serve them. Here are just some of the ways my clients are still running their businesses which I thought I would share with you and hope it can spark some ideas if you are feeling a little lost and overwhelmed: One of my lovely clients owns a homewares and fashion small business and they will be offering virtual tours of their store for customers and also providing FREE local delivery. Another client, who owns a food retail store is offering free delivery to their customers through their online store and have been working non stop around the clock to ensure that the most vulnerable dont miss out. Because demand is higher than supply, they sadly also had to increase prices (which they are wearing some of) at this time and their audience has just been SO supportive and leaving the most heartwarming comments on their social media pages. 07.01.2022 I understand not every business needs to be online to be successful...and these people? are NOT my target audience However, Im gonna throw my thoughts in here on this one.... because I truly believe ALL businesses should have an online and social media presence regardless if youre fully booked Here are the first questions that pop into my mind when I hear someone say they dont need social media or digital marketing: ... How are you nurturing exisiting clients and maintaining a solid relationship with them? Do you not want to be seen as a leader in your industry? How are your current clients or customers finding you? (Genuinely interested). Are you not looking to further grow your business? When I ask the top two questions? The biz owner is genuinely left speechless Look at it this way - McDonalds are a VERY well known brand, yet they still throw SO MUCH MONEY towards their marketing and advertising online. And they do this because remaining top of mind MATTERS and its a way to maintain relationships with their customers. Just because you are fully booked now, doesnt mean you will be in the future! You need to NURTURE your relationships with existing customers and clients before someone else does. Because, its 2020! I had an Instant Clarity session with @rachel_kurzyp who showed me how to better understand my why and identify my top values in business. Ive completed mentoring with Jarrah from @sbj.studios for FB Ads which is now a new service I offer to clients and feel confident in. I bought the Business Bundle from @thebundleco.co which has over 90 courses from leaders killing it in their industry. Im currently doing the How to Create your own E-course course by @natalia_benson and recently finished the Pinterest Power course by @therisingceo . 05.01.2022 Its hard to remain productive when you work from home These were the first and only words that a previous work colleague blurted out when I told him I was resigning from my full-time job....not even a congrats OUCH!! ... The more Ive worked for myself and from home the more I have thought about this comment and to me personally? Productivity comes down to your mindset, not from where you work I get it, there are distractions at home and some days it can be hard to seperate the two from one another. BUT an employee who goes to work everyday can be unproductive and be distracted by their phone, social media, personal emails, motivation etc etc... So really, IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOU! Remaining productive to me is about setting boundaries and sticking to them Here are some of the things I have implemented to help me remain productive during workdays: I make an effort to work from the library to avoid being distracted by housework. Plus its free and very resourceful. I have put in place set hours and days that I work. ALL notifications except messages are turned off at all times. I write down everything I need to do before I start my day and week. I get dressed for the day as soon as I wake up (generally in activewear). I give myself a lunch break where I can do whatever I want. These are all the things Ive been sticking too! Storytelling connects with people and catches the attention of your reader It connects your brand with your audience and is the perfect way to share your values and what you care about. You can literally promote your products and services through storytelling, I do it every single day for my clients. ... (If you know you know ) I just wanted to check in with you all, because personally, I feel like Joe Exotics eyebrow ring is hanging in better than I am lately Your Instagram feed is probably filled with posts about staying positive etc. which is amazing and I love ... BUT if youre like me, and worry about things that might not even happen, this current time is probably taking a huge toll on your anxiety and I just wanted to let you know that feeling these feels is more than ok! If youre taking a moment in history to relax in bed, rewatch your favourite movies or binge Netflix then High Five! If youre taking the time to work on your business or upskill then give yourself a big pat on the back! Whatever youre doing to cope in this situation, just know youre doing your best! And its okay to feel helpless, because in some way... we all do right now! We are all in this together and soon enough SCOMO is going to let us get back to living our normal lives but for now, we need to stay safe at home. 03.01.2022 Looking for fast results? Sorry Im not your girl In fact if anyone promises you results fast from their services.... run because the reality is youre probably going to end up disappointed. While there are definitely exceptions, (like that time I doubled sales in the first month of managing a clients social media platforms), most of the time seeing an impact from your efforts is going to take time ... It can take anywhere between 3 - 6 months (sometimes even longer) to see the desired results you are after and normally your Social Media Manager will make you aware of this Its not a one month thing and then you give up... no Unless you already have a highly engaged audience, you are most probably not going to get loads of sales from the first post your Social Media Manager publishes. Consistency is key and thats what Social Media Managers are REALLY good at doing. They keep the content flowing, they learn to understand what your audience responds well to, they help more people find you and they create hype around your brand! And eventually with all the consistency and persistence - your content is going to get the response it deserves As you have built trust with your audience, your content excites them and they want buy from you because they feel like they know you. My clients know that results dont happen overnight and I want to keep it that way So for this reason? My social media management services will now be a minimum of three months because its a waste of both of our time if you are just going to use my services for 30 days. Sorry! 01.01.2022 What is one thing you will be doing in 2021? For me it’s treating Social Tango as a client. After the year it’s been, I haven’t been able to look after my own business.... and it really shows! ... I say the year it’s been in both a positive and negative way. The positives? I’ve had a lot of growth that removed time from my schedule to work on my biz, not just in it. The solution for this was outsourcing and engaging a subcontractor that has saved me from the burnout that was near. The negative? was a pandemic resulting in the kids home full-time for 8 weeks If you’re a parent, you know what I mean.... It felt impossible to achieve anything with an active 1 year old seeking all of your attention and a nearly 5 year old wanting you to answer 10 million questions Now trust me - In no way am I glamourising busy. It sucked! I’m glad things have gone back to our old routine as it benefits not only me, but the most important people in my world Why am I waiting for 2021 to do this? Because, that’s when I’ll have the time to really implement it.. No half ass jobs will be happening over here But for now... it’s time to focus all my work energy on my clients, because this is their most busiest time of the year
