Meet Mikahla The newest recruit to the Gather team, Mik...ahla keeps us on our toes with her vibrant energy, welcomes customers with her big smile, and works her magic getting the shop organise for the rest of the week. Mikahla may look familiar to you as she wears a number of different hats in this community. She also juggles school bus runs, working at York's iconic Jules Cafe and runs her own small business Lana Vello (check it out, its amazing the young talent we have here in York). We recently drilled Mikahla about her food choices... 01.01.2022 In the new year we’ll be running sourdough bread courses in our kitchen. At $150 per spot, they make a perfect present for the bread-head in your life. . In ou...r three hour sourdough workshop you'll get hands on experience with the entire sourdough making process, from maintaining your starterto baking the final loaf. The small class size (6 people) means you can ask questions and get a personalised lesson to make the perfect loaf. The course is designed to make sourdough at home, and doesn't rely on any fancy equipment or techniques.The course includes tastings, a sourdough recipe guide, a proofing basket, and a bench scraper. You will also go home with your own starter, a loaf of freshly baked bread, and your own hand made loaf, ready for you to bake at home the next day. There will be plenty of food and refreshments throughout. . Courses run from 4pm to 7pm on Sundays and are currently available for the 31st of Jan and 7th of Feb.
