24.01.2022 Gippsland is as beautiful as it is remote - yet Im not sure that a lot of Melbourne-based solar companies will be venturing along this track to check their system! In fact, when this customer called their installer to say that their system was offline the response they received was, Its probably nothing to do with us. 23.01.2022 This client in Traralgon has inherited a house from their late father-in-law, the house has two solar systems installed and when they took ownership they noticed an error message on one inverter - so they gave Solar Fix a call. 05.01.2022 Not every solar installation we attend is dysfunctional, in fact some of them are installed pretty well but the admin side of the installation has let it down. Rob & Debra of Morwell installed a 2kW system a couple of years ago, but the installation paperwork was not processed and their installer has since gone out of business. Chasing up this paperwork has been a huge headache for them, until a friend put them on to Solar Fix. We checked their bills, their meter, and asses...sed the system on the roof - we even washed some moss off the panels while we were up there, Kyles just that kind of bloke. 04.01.2022 This 4.8kW system belongs to an energetic 76-year-old gent named Albert, whose beautiful native garden has to be seen to be believed! Albert and his wife installed their system five years ago, and recently contacted us for a system inspection. 03.01.2022 This week wed like to give a shout out to our gun electrician Kyle Blackstock who is getting married to his beautiful partner of 10 years, Katherine. An A Grade, CEC certified electrician, Kyle joined the Gippsland Solar team in August 2014, following a stint managing another electrical contractors outlet in Leongatha. Since starting with us, Kyle has gone from strength to strength, building his knowledge and skills to take on the very tricky task of fault finding under the... Solar Fix operation. 02.01.2022 Clients contact Solar Fix for a wide range of reasons and system faults can be a riddle to figure out... Today we came across a 3.5kW system that has never been connected to the grid. Be it through a retailer going out of business, lost paperwork or poor follow-up, this system has been on the roof for four or five years without a solar meter being installed, and therefore not generating feed-in credits for the home-owner. The problem was only picked up when the house was sold... to an electrician. He updated the switchboard, but despite his efforts he had no luck getting a bi-directional meter installed. We replaced a DC Isolator on the system that had been recalled, and have taken up the process of getting the meter installed for the customer.
