23.01.2022 Only 5 minutes to go... Turn off your lights and appliances and go outside to enjoy the sky!

23.01.2022 A positive move for everyone!

21.01.2022 Solar takes off into the sky!

19.01.2022 Solar Power is prevailing over fossil fuels: http://solarreaction.com.au//Solar-power-is-prevailing-ove This week has seen solar power help hold off the construction of a gas fired power station planned to be built later this year. The Age reported that Energy Australia had applied to build a 1GW gas fired power station at Yallourn in Victoria, but decided to build a smaller capacity power plant. Due to the suppressed wholesale electricity prices and lower than expected de...mand for electricity, they then decided to shelve the construction until much later this decade. A statement from the Australian Energy Market Operator earlier this year saw a weakening demand in electricity was due to the increased uptake of rooftop solar (now over 4 million Australians are benefiting from solar power) and the implementation of energy efficient products by households and businesses. While average wholesale electricity prices may have also dropped thanks in part to renewable energys impact on the Merit Order Effect; the benefit certainly doesnt appear to be passed onto households. Last week the Australian Energy Regulators (AERs) latest State of the Energy Market report revealed residential electricity prices have jumped 91% over the past five years nationally. With Christmas and New Year now past us, it is time to focus on managing the rising electricity prices and offset the power bill by reducing your households energy consumption and by producing your own power with a quality and reliable solar system. One of our 2.5 kilowatt solar power systems installed in the Sydney region can provide substantial financial benefit when an emphasis is placed on offsetting your energy consumption rather than exporting surplus power to the grid.

18.01.2022 SOLAR RALLY NSW - SEIA & AuSES Wednesday 18th May at Customs House (Barnet Long Room) from 11:30 to 12:30. We need the government to urgently allow those who have approval to connect to do so under the scheme, and mandate a 1:1 net feed in tariff immediately for everybody else.... We need as many people as possible to build a strong crowd, and show how many people will be affected.

18.01.2022 If we could harness the energy from the sunlight that strikes the Earth for one minute, it would power the worlds energy needs for one whole year! That is POWERFUL!

17.01.2022 A great video easily explaining how solar energy works!

17.01.2022 IMPORTANT: Please complete this petition NOW! Everyone must do this! We need 10,000 petitions to make a change!

16.01.2022 We have a future without fossil fuels!

16.01.2022 Anyone who has lived near or worked at a coal mine or power plant knows that there is a risk of lung disease from the pollutants dispersed from the extraction and burning of fossil fuels! Why else would they be offering FREE puffers to kids that live within a 200 mile (320 km) radius of a coal fired power plant!! Coal companies NEVER give anything to the community for FREE!

15.01.2022 Another punch for the solar industry! If you have already on the Solar Bonus Scheme at 60c/kWh then you should definitely read this!

15.01.2022 Today we celebrate World Habitat Day 2011, a global celebration organised by the United Nations and this year hosted by the Government of Mexico. The idea is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all, to adequate shelter. It is intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat. This years theme, Cities and Climate Change was chosen because climate change is fast becoming the preeminent developm...ent challenge of the 21st century. Indeed, no-one today can really foresee the predicament in which a town or city will find itself in 10, 20 or 30 years time. In this new urban era with most of humanity now living in towns and cities, we must bear in mind that the greatest impacts of disasters resulting from climate change begin and end in cities. Today we need to raise awareness, both at work and at home, to combat climate change which is rapidly heating our atmosphere. If every Australian did 1 little thing today, that would be over 20 million little things which add up to be a lot. Every little bit helps no matter how small you think it is. Share this with your family, friends and colleagues and remember EVERY little bit helps.

15.01.2022 41% of the worlds power is produced by coal fired power plants...

14.01.2022 Over 1500 people turned up today for the Solar Rally at Custom House to protest against the governments proposed retrospective legislation change on solar energy.

13.01.2022 World Habitat Day, the 3rd of October 2011 was organised by the United Nations to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all, to adequate shelter. This years theme Cities and Climate Change was chosen because climate change is fast becoming the preeminent development challenge of the 21st century. In this new urban era with most of humanity now living in towns and cities, we must bear in mind that the greatest impacts of disasters resulting from climate change begin and end in cities. Cities too have a great influence on climate change.

12.01.2022 Germany’s solar industry reaches a new high! http://solarreaction.com.au//Germanys-solar-industry-reach Germany can afford to have their flags flying high as their solar power is booming! 2012 has proven to be a record-breaking year for the country’s already-impressive solar power generation. As part of the country’s plan to eliminate nuclear energy and replace it with renewable energy by 2022, Germany has invested heavily in solar power, breaking all previous installation... records and doubling installation goals reaching an all-time high of 7.6GW (gigawatts) of solar power capacity last year, surpassing its original annual goals of 2.5 to 3.5GW. The previous record of 7.5GW was set in 2011. The 1.3 million solar power systems installed in Germany in 2012 covered the annual electricity consumption of eight million households - a 45% increase compared to the previous year, the German Federal Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) reports. "Germany now is reaping the fruits of its efforts in solar technology. Its share of the power supply has quadrupled in just three years. Simultaneously the price of new PV systems bisected, "says Carsten Koernig, Chief Executive of BSW-Solar. In early December, BSW-Solar estimated installed solar power capacity globally was about to surpass the 100GW mark, which translates to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of 70 million tons per year. The organisation stated worldwide solar power capacity will increase five to sevenfold by 2020. Germany’s growth has been helped by subsidies that are given to energy generators and are guaranteed over 20 years. But while these subsidies help renewable energy growth, they also raise costs for the consumer and some claim that they slow economic growth. To address this, subsidies were cut by 2.5% and as a result, solar growth has slowed from 611MW (megawatts) in October to just 360MW in December. The news isn’t all bad, however, because solar capacity in Germany for 2013 is still expected to sit in the 3.5 to 4GW range, well above the original goal. Currently, solar power accounts for about 5% of Germany’s power generation.
