15.01.2022 Micro-cracks, snail trails, de-lamination, water ingress, RISO faults? What the heck does all that mean and do your panels have it? You should inspect your panels and give them a wash every 12 months, while youre doing that, check there is none of the above. How? See the photos below! ... What do these mean? A Snail trail is a discolouration of the panel which usually only manifests itself after a couple of years of production. Snail trails have multiple causes, but one cause can be attributed to the use of defective front metallization silver paste, in the solar cell manufacturing process, moisture can enter through the back sheet and diffuse to the cell surface - which brings us to the next point! Water ingress is when moisture finds its way into the solar module protective layers and comes in contact with the internal electrical circuit, solar panel ingress has occurred. Accelerating the solar panels degradation resulting in the inevitable severe failure of the solar panel therefore effecting the overall performance of your system! Your inverter will then display a riso fault because of this! App: Red = Load or house consumption Blue = Grid, above the solid line (0W) is power that has been imported from the grid or paid for, and below the solid line is exported, where Ergon pay you the feed in tariff. Orange = PV or Photovoltaic Solar Production Hybrid 5KW inverter without a battery is the same as Grid Connect 5KW/8KW Inverter. Hybrid 5KW with a Battery Red = Load or house consumption. 10.01.2022 COVID - 19 UPDATE To all of our valued clients, we want to make a quick note to reassure you in these crazy times we are running, for now, as business per usual. Our business hours will stay the same until we get advised otherwise. Our in house consults will be as per the Aus Government Health Recommendations with 4m2 guidelines, alternatively they can be changed to a phone conference or via email.... You are still more then welcome to come into the show room if you feel comfortable to do so, we are taking extra cleaning precautions in regard to disinfecting all seating areas, eftpos machine, office equipment, and the reception desk. As I write this, QLD is now starting to lock down unless you are an 'essential service'. The legislation states that... "the production, supply or distribution of any form of energy, power or fuel or of power or fuel resources"...is an 'essential service'. Solar is clearly a 'form of energy'. QLD is now ordering 'non-essential' businesses to shut down. A solar installation business is not defined as a 'non-essential' business, so until that changes we will be working as per usual. Being a small locally owned and family run business, this is a trying time for all and we will keep you all up to date with our position where possible, however we will always be accessible via phone and email. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. For all of those who have bookings and installs with us they will go ahead as normal unless we contact you to move them forward.
