25.01.2022 Last week we had our End of Term Concert followed by a BBQ dinner at Reka's deck. Fantastic music and great people!! Thanks, everyone!

24.01.2022 The first rehearsal of the Womens Choir went really well last night. There were 40 gorgeous ladies singing Sirenes by Debussy. We had a 2 hour choral section followed by an hour with the Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra and the amazing Maestro, John Curro. Cant wait for the next practice. :-)

22.01.2022 Tonight, the Womens Choir had its first rehearsal with the conductor of Saturdays concert, Ben Northey (the only guy in the room). We had lots of fun and finished in an hour. Now, we just have to memorise about 17 changes he asked us to put in the score for tomorrows orchestral rehearsal! Yay!! Cant wait... :-)

15.01.2022 Tonights Beginner Musicianship and Beginner Conducting classes are in St Aidans Anglican Girls School, Corinda. To get there: entry to music bldg is from car park (take the closest door), the class will be held in the last room facing to Kathleen street. (Sorry, I dont know the number. - Reka)

10.01.2022 Last night the Womens Choir "sparkled" at Midsummer Nights Dream by Mendelssohn at QPAC Concert Hall. We had the great pleasure to be part of an amazing production by 4MBS and the QSO conducted by Benjamin Northey. Wish we had more shows to enjoy the music snd acting and perhaps fix those two little bits.... (#1 echo "Lysander-Lysander-Lysander" and #2 at Finale all girls were too busy sorting out our glowing sticks when realised that some of us missed "Through this" and came in at "house" in bar 2.. It was lots of fun though! ;-) thankyouall!!!!

06.01.2022 This years last Vespers led by students of SVMA celebrating the 2nd Sunday of Advent at St Andrews Lutheran Church! Service starts at 6.30 pm followed by supper in the Church Hall. A wonderful preparation for Christmas with beautiful choral music by Heinrich Isaack, Padre Martini (!) and Felix Mendelssohn.

01.01.2022 Advanced Conducting Course starts on Friday! There are still places available for students. If you are not a conductor but would like to learn some tricks of choral conducting you can enroll as an audit student and sing great repertoire while observing fellow singers leading the ensemble.
