01.05.2022 Throwback Thursday International Women's Month! Here is a photo of the amazing Hannah! She was my former bandmate/ keyboardist/ vocalist for Folly Fields before I moved to Melbourne back in 2018. Her warm personality and joyful outlook on life brought such a fun energy to our shows. So glad she put herself out there to try something new with me in our band! Now she manages and all women's pop music choir which I occasionally sang along with in a few shows! 23.04.2022 Such a good reminder for tired parents and teachers who feel like their own creative practice is dwindling! You have more left in there it's just about setting up that space in your life to find it (and believe me I know it is hard to make time with kids!!) Tuesday nights are now my writing nights and it is such an important part of my weekly routine to save that space. Most nights I just sit and drink tea for the first twenty-minutes loving the quite but allowing myself space and time has also brought together some interesting tunes I didn't think I had the energy to create! 21.04.2022 Who has inspired you in your life as a young musician or artist? Throwback Thursday! Each week this month I will post a photo of a different female musician I have played with over the years. Thinking about these (overly) dramatic band shots with my first female bandmate Anne in our band Wendish back in secondary school! :) She taught me about good rock music from the 60s and gave me my first Janis Joplin record. We had so much fun writing and performing together in front... of our peers and in local cafes and venues despite the fact we were teased for being (an all girl band).
