As the fears around COVID-19 increase, we would like to inform all our clients of our current hygiene and infection-control safety practices, and extra measures we will be taking to ensure our patients and therapists are as safe as possible when receiving treatment at Sook Sabai Thai massage . Our current hygiene measures include single use linen for every client all our sheets, pillowcases and towels are used only once for each person, and then commercially l...aundered. Our therapists wash and sanitise their hands/arms before and after every treatment, and all contact surfaces (including the treatment table, reception desk , Hicaps machine etc) are cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant between every appointment. However, due to the uncertain nature of the COVID-19, we are also taking the following further precautions: We are asking any clients with flu-like symptoms to let us know and postpone their appointment until they are well. If you do show signs of infection when you arrive, we will request a postponement of your treatment on the spot. We will ensure self-quarantine of our therapists should either of us show signs of a flu. We apologise for any inconvenience around rescheduling appointments, but we will not hesitate to cancel to ensure the safety of all our clients and their families. We have never charged a cancellation fee, and so please be assured that you can cancel or reschedule your appointment at any time with no repercussions. We may use face masks and/or gloves to reduce risk to either our patients or ourselves if needed during treatments. 03.01.2022 Dear valued clients For the past few weeks, I have been following the updates from the Department of Health website and the World Health recommendations daily. I have also been applying very stringent infection control and hygiene protocols. Safety is my number one concern for all of my clients, some of whom are at-risk populations. I feel a strong sense of social responsibility to help in any way to slow the spread of the virus and to protect the at-risk populations in our ...community. Since my profession involves being in close proximity and sharing the air for an extended time in a small room, a virus like this can be spread very quickly despite the best infection control and hygiene precautions. Due to the nature of COVID19, people could be asymptomatic for at least several days but still be contagious. Some people have contracted the virus and had virtually no symptoms at all. The Australian Government has now mandated social distancing measures to try to control the spread of COVID19. Pre-emptive social distancing and good hygiene are the two most powerful tools we have to manage the rate of virus transmission and slow down the enormous load on our medical facilities all at once. With that in mind, I am taking this situation seriously and have decided to take action now to temporarily suspend my practice to slow the curve of COVID19 spread and lessen the sudden overload on our medical facilities locally. If you have a session booked in the next two weeks, it is currently cancelled for the time being. I do not make this decision lightly as this practice is my primary source of income. At this stage, I don’t know how long this suspension will be in effect but I will keep you informed. I would prefer to be over cautious and err on the side of safety, rather than potentially regret not taking actions sooner.
