24.01.2022 Sooooo I finished this yummy piece a few months ago, initially a live painting at @esoteric_festival (ahaha remember festivals???), though it appears I forgot to post it! My brother had the pleasure of naming it... so may I present: Cosmic Ocular Bubbles, 2020, acrylic and varnish on board. Also a quick update: whilst initially I thought I could still paint my big mural amidst stage 4 lockdown, ‘tis just a little bit too illegal unfortunately! So stay tuned friends!! ... . . . . . . . . . . #seedart #originalartwork #acrylicpainting #surrealism #psychedelicart #yummybubbleshehe #melbourneart #femaleartist See more

24.01.2022 I write this morning from Djab Wurrung country. I finished this mural a few days ago already now, but finally here are the photos! As I sit and reflect on the beauty and intensity of the process painting the mural, the fact that it was crowdfunded by you guys, that I’ve formed many connections with the surrounding community, I feel incredible gratitude. Indeed, it was a mighty fine mission! But I loved every moment... even when it took a few hours just to chalk the design on.... I feel blessed and supported on my path as an artist (and all that word entails). May my practice continue to fuse my passion for colour, imagination, play, connection to Self and Land... this mural is just the beginning of more visual storytelling in public realms. For now, here are these images! Hope you love this mural as much as I do!! Ps. If you want to go see it, it’s in the alleyway behind the restaurant

20.01.2022 HELLO! I’m suuuuper excited to announce that we’ve officially launched our collab project called ‘Comfortable Discomfort’ A bunch of wonderful artists and I connected via the interwebs over a month, sharing, creating and connecting - the result being our website: comfortablediscomfort.com. We’ve each created an artwork during isolation and have shared our respective experiences during this funky time there’s a lot of creatively juicy goodness to see and read. So please take a look, have a read!!! ‘Twas a mighty pleasure to be a part of this project. Massive shoutout to the group, to @shanprimroseart for wringing us all together.

19.01.2022 And that's a wrap! Wowwweeee! My heart is exploding with gratitude. I feel so held, supported and more inspired than ever to get cracking on this mural (and prepare for more). THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH to those generous souls (you know who you are!) who donated to this quest. I also want to extend the thank you to all of you who, in any way, have supported me and S.eed Art. You are so a part of this journey. Thank you. ... So, stay tuned... I've got a wall to paint now!

16.01.2022 I didn’t know it when I started, but this piece suddenly became a succinct expression of my isolation reflections and experiences, hence, my featured piece for ‘comfortable discomfort: an artists guide to surviving isolation’. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to co-create with a bunch of diverse, inspiring artists for this collaborative project. Please check it out We’ve all worked super hard and each of our pages tell a different story... ... Link in bio x

14.01.2022 Starting a big ol’ drawing on a lazy Sunday hmmmmm!

14.01.2022 May I present! La Loba acrylic and varnish on up-cycled canvas, 158 x 69.5cm Clarissa Pinkola Estés, in her renowned "Women Who Run With the Wolves", tells us that the Wolf Woman, La Loba, lives in a hidden place that everyone knows in their souls but few have ever seen. Her sole work is the collecting of bones, of which wolves are her specialty. And so, through the mountains, she creeps and crawls and sifts as she collects and preserves especially that which is... in danger of being lost in the world. Once the beautiful white sculpture is complete, she sits by the fire and thinks about what song she will sing. This Wolf Woman I have depicted is the divine @schneltser - informed by Kamila’s powerful photos, this work was created as part of my portraiture series grappling with the Wild Woman archetype and her place - or distinct lack thereof - in our current Western society.

14.01.2022 she plays. she creates to reimagine and reimagines to create. she is. she.

12.01.2022 Here’s a pic from last week a sweet day in the sun embellishing @bosohq with the cherry blossom branches... how good

10.01.2022 A few hours to a few seconds ... ‘tis surprising how slow this process is constantly dipping the brush in the paint, going over lines, speaking with passerby’s, feeling into my next addition... Loving it all ALSO! Despite Stage 4 I’ll still be starting the big boy mural very soon! Just gotta organise a ladder... . . . .... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #streetart #fortthepeople #visualstorytelling #melbourneart #femaleartist #streetartmelbourne #seedart See more

06.01.2022 Hey hello! merry Sunday. The wonderful @fabrizio.photography took some equally wonderful photos of me & my creations in my old studio... here’s just a few to start...

04.01.2022 Hey friends! An update: The news of the disaster in Lebanon deeply shook me another confronting piece of this puzzle, that is the immense state of flux in which we currently exist. We are being shaken to, as a collective, awaken. To recognise that through destruction comes new beginning - a kind of rite of passage for transformation, as Michael Meade said. In recognition of this period in time and in support of Lebanon, I have transformed my oil pastel drawing into a pri...nt, called ‘j o u e r’ for you lovely humans to purchase. I will donate all proceeds to the Lebanese Red Cross. So please, in the spirit of play, help me in supporting Lebanon, and indeed a new beginning. Link: https://sophierasheedart.bigcartel.com/ xx
