17.01.2022 I'm not going to do the whole "Before and After Reveal" right now (be warned, there is SO much of that yet to come lol) but on Saturday night, almost 3 years to the day that I moved in here, I threw a little party - part belated birthday and part celebration of the doors finally opening on the Bridge Street Studio!! Kind, funny, supportive people came and we all had a lovely time The amount of work I have had to do on this place has been, for me, with zero experience o...f this sort of thing - mind blowing. Sometimes fun (usually when there was a sledge hammer involved) bloody expensive, and at times utterly overwhelming and a bit depressing. It has been a mammoth learning curve, but now I can say I've got no fear of power tools, and I've learned so many new skills, it's just awesome! There is probably another 3 years worth of work I could be doing right now! But on Saturday afternoon, as my decals were being put on those big front windows, it felt like a good time to step back for a moment, take a breath and have a little excitable giggle to myself!! Something's Happened!! I've really made something happen Couldn't post this without a shout out to Raymond. The poor lad was renting this place when I bought it, and little did he know what was about to happen He's been around through thick and thin, someone to run ideas by, to hold the ladder (or go up the ladder when it's too high for me lol) To mow the lawns, smuggle mulch, endless trips to Bunnings, empty buckets of rainwater pouring through the roof I'd just had fixed! To lift objects no single human being should ever be asked to shift lol. He's listened to me get excited, and cry a lot, and complain. He's been a firm friend and a fair dinkum next level Legend (aghhh felt just like Alf Stewart writing that ) And I also want to thank Troy who kind of appeared when all the wind was out of my sails, and has been so generous with his time and skills So, with 2020 almost behind us, it's time for me to Really step up, and start producing some work worthy of hanging on these freshly plastered walls! Maybe even a few workshops here or a weekly class? Who knows? Exciting times I'd say!
