24.01.2022 Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious - Ruth Reichl Isn’t a meal always so much more enjoyable when you share it with those you love? Sitting down at the table together over food is where all the best conversations come out, laughter flows freely and there’s a rosy warmth in the air. Has anyone else watched the movie Julie and Julia? I love the celebration of food and relationship in that film, and the dinner party at the end is so beautiful and heartwarming. Sharing food with family and friends and the traditions and celebrations they entwine is such a special part of life, don’t you think?
17.01.2022 Loving this plant based vegan coconut protein blend from @wildbag! Wildbag is made in Australia and is made from 100% natural ingredients, from sustainably farmed sources. Ingredients of the coconut blend: 100% organic: Pea Protein, Black Chia Seeds, Brown Linseed (Flaxseed), Sunflower Kernels, Sesame Seeds, Peoria’s, Coconut Flour, Natural Flavour, Maca Powder, Natural Sweetener (Stevia Extract) 100g contains 44.9g of protein, 6.7g of sugars, 10.4g of dietary fibre, as w...ell as varying amounts of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc. I really love the texture of this protein blend with all the different seeds, and the flavour is fantastic and nutty and overall very subtle in a smoothie. This green smoothie was made using kiwi fruit, avocado, spinach and @originalbonsoy milk blended with @wildbag coconut vegan protein blend. Super refreshing and yummy !
16.01.2022 Come, let us have some tea and continue to talk about happy things. - Chaim Potok Does anyone else find that a cup of tea cures a multitude of ills? Joy really is found in the little things in life. Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
14.01.2022 Mmmmm I am loving these plentiful and inexpensive avocados at the moment! In Australia we have avocado orchards in Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Tassie! Pretty much all over! Avocados are a perennial fruit, which means they are available pretty much all year round due to all the widespread and climatically diverse growing regions. The peak of avocado supply in Australia is between the months of March and November. Avocados or...iginally took root in the highlands of Central America and Mexico and the lowlands of Columbia, where they grew wild. Avocados first made their way to Europe and then the western world in the 16th century. When the Aztecs first discovered the avocado, they dubbed it as ‘ahuacatl’, which has evolved over the years into the word ‘avocado’. Avocados have a number of health benefits due to their naturally occurring fats consisting mainly of monounsaturated fats, which are heart healthy due to the fact that they increase the levels of ‘good’ cholesterol in our bodies, HDL. Avocados contain a fantastic amount of dietary fibre, as well as potassium, folate, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin K and are also a rich source of polyphenals, which are a form of potent antioxidants which fight inflammation, DNA damage and LDL (the ‘bad’ cholesterol) oxidation. Avocados have been termed as ‘nature’s butter’ due to their soft and creamy texture. So make the most of the plethora of avocados right now and start experimenting with them in your cooking! What’s your favourite way to eat avocados?
