25.01.2022 ...a day in the winery at Soul Growers during the 2020 Vintage.

25.01.2022 Check Australia's newest Auction site - Davis White Auction House. Great wines and helping out some of the struggling restaurants and wholesalers. Loads of bargains. Closing Sunday.

24.01.2022 The wonderful history of the Hoffmann Family and the future. Proud to be working with Adrian and family at Soul Growers.

24.01.2022 A big big shout out to our amazing admin/accounts all round legend Madeleine Chapman. Hope you have a beautiful birthday and get spoilt by everyone. We found it very appropriate to have a candle in a schnitzel for her. This really sums us blokes up. This lady really is a true gem, having to put up with us four clowns is a monumental task and she does it so well. Thanks for everything

23.01.2022 Things we love about technology #26 Dodgy camera work.............. Stuey had the good fortune to be interviewed by Nick Ryan, the larger than life journo, today at the winery. Via the Instagram of the Good Food and Wine Show, who we have been massive contributors, participants and supporters of for many years, the discussion today revolved around one of Stuey's greatest passions - LUNCH. Mixing Equilibrium GSM and a hand made Barossan pizza was today's focus. The chat flowed... freely, the pizza looked alright, the wine was a treat. Now to the technology.............. Look closely and you will see the soon to be patented Soul Growers I-Phone camera tripod support stand. Held together with nothing but 2 rubber bands, 4 pieces of grey duct tape and a short prayer - this stunning piece of revolutionary AV equipment is a must have for the tech savvy small business, in a world where live streaming is a powerful way to communicate with your customers. Still in prototype mode, look for this must have to be available through our website in kit form, at some stage in the next 5 years - we still have to work on the rubber band supply chain, to ensure we have a quality product worthy of release. The duct tape you can buy anywhere................ Accident can be the discovery of all invention - or something like that................ Cheers, The Soul Growers crew. :) See more

23.01.2022 2020 Barossa Winemaker of the Year! What an achievement. Congratulations to our very own Stuart Bourne, who received this prestigious award today, presented by the Barons of Barossa at the annual Declaration of Vintage event in Tanunda. Stuart is a true, genuine ambassador for @barossawines. He works tirelessly to promote the region, and his passion is infectious! A worthy recipient of this significant award. Great work Stuart Bourne.

22.01.2022 Things we love about Vintage #23 Lunch................ Fresh made pizza on hand rolled fresh dough, a glass of wine, fresh crushed grapes in an open fermenter, fresh pressed ferments going to barrel - and lovely company to share it all with. ... But stopping for lunch, together as a group, whilst observing social distancing, must surely be one of the most lovely things about Vintage. A chance to chat about all sorts of things and also to plan the afternoon's work. A very European approach to making fine wine. A very civilised view of the world............A very beautiful Barossa........... Good wine takes time, food and friends............ See more

21.01.2022 With over 20 wineries in the Adelaide Hills affected by the bushfires, here's how you can help.

21.01.2022 Every year we as winemakers all lie in wait, expectantly looking towards that one big day in August - when the annual James Halliday Wine Companion is released to the adoring wine drinking public. At Soul Growers, we hold this set of annual reviews in very high regard not only to see how we as a winery are tracking, to see how our individual wines are looking - and to read the feedback that James and his crew give us within our submitted wines. This year we were fortunate t...o become a 5 Red Star winery, which also includes 11 individual wines with scores of 94 and above (and within that there are 4 wines at 97 points and 1 at 96). Does it change who we are - no. Were still us. Were still Soul Growers. The growers are still the soul of the Barossa Valley. So as we raise a glass at the winery, to toast a wonderful accomplishment and the realisation of a dream we have had for some time we also toast you - the final step in the process - where you get a glass of Soul Growers wine and share our smile. Thank you to all of you, for helping us chase our winemaking dreams. Cheers, Paul, Stu, Tom and our fabulous grape growers.

20.01.2022 A fantastic article on Stuart and the passion he has for the Barossa.

16.01.2022 Not a bad place for a wine dinner.

14.01.2022 Tim Smith is a local Barossa Valley winemaking legend. To be in the same league as him is to truly walk amongst the best of the best. To see Stuey and Tim together, for their quiet handover of Barossa Winemaker of the Year, with their Triumph motorcycles looking back along Rifle Range Road, with the Barossa Valley in the background - priceless.

13.01.2022 Soul Growers Equilibrium GSM. Brisbane River looking out from the balcony. Peparing for the Good Food and Wine Show over the weekend. What a beautiful town and wine that is fitting for such an event. Looking forward to seeing our lovely QLD supporters. Shout out if you are around.

10.01.2022 Many would believe that there was only ever one great mime artist in the world - Marcel Marceau. At Soul Growers, we believe otherwise. Our resident oenologue du mime, Florian Bousignac (originally from Toulouse) is not only one the smartest and funniest winemakers in the Barossa - but is also a great mime artiste.... Here he is with his absolute classique - "French winemaker in a stereotypical beret peering around a wall of a building." One word................pure genius. Great wine takes time, but also remember - great wine takes mime............... Soul Growers - wines and mimes of Barossa distinction. #barossawine #barossamime #glorytoBarossa

08.01.2022 9.45am Wednesday 17th June 2020, Barossa Valley, South Australia Tonite folks! 07.01.2022 Things we like about Vintage #23 The Long Table Lunch. So in between the crew at Soul Growers crushing 6 tonnes of beautiful Barossa fruit, pressing out 2 magnificent brand new Shiraz wines, pumping over 9 delicious new ferments of Vintage 2020, prepping some barrels for wine, lab analysis as required and cleaning the floors - we also managed to have a sneaky long table lunch for 18 people. The guest list from yesterday was like the United Nations - representatives from Fran...ce, Italy, England plus also the domestic crew represented by NSW, VIC, QLD and of course - us locals from SA. Makes for a massive day but that is what Vintage, winemaking and being a Barossan is all about - stopping for lunch as one................. #barossawine #glorytobarossa See more

07.01.2022 Big day for all the crew at Soul Growers yesterday. The first day of vintage crushing is always one you never forget. You get to guide the grapes through to the open fermenter, with the whole crew involved along the way. From unloading the fresh picked Shiraz grapes from one of our beautiful grower families - the Hampels - to weighing them in, analysis of a sample and tasting the juice, crushing the fruit to the fermenter, mixing the yeast to do the fermentation and finally p...lunging the skins to get out all of that amazing colour and flavour you would expect from our wines - it doesn't get any more exciting than that. Cheers to the first grapes of Vintage 2020 and cheers to you all for supporting us as a small, independent, quality and grower focussed winery - nestled amongst the rolling vines of the magnificent Barossa Valley. From Paul, Tom, Leigh, Stu, Florian and Sorrel - a toast to Vintage 2020. Bring it on. #barossawine See more

06.01.2022 Things I love about spring #32........ A freshly pruned, mowed and tidied vineyard. We are very lucky because we get to tend to an ancient block of Mataro, that is now well over 130 years old. As the encroachment of the village has expanded out from the main street, this vineyard has been getting smaller and smaller. All that is left now is just over 100 individual vines, that eek out a dry grown and meagre existence in the northern part of the Barossa. ... To think that each year, for over 130 years, someone has shown this vineyard some love - and gone out to prune, mow and tend. We follow in the footsteps of those who came before us, to preserve what is left, so that they may hopefully live another 100 years. Living Barossa history..................and we get to be involved. And all for the ability to make just one barrel of wine each year, if we are lucky. Some labours of love can't fully be described - this is but one of them.............. #barossawine #glorytobarossa #mataro See more

05.01.2022 There are a few ways you can get a gauge as to how you are tracking in the world of business - you can take a survey of your customers, you can enter into industry award programs, you can simply self assess - or you can get a third party endorsement from a very respected member of the media, specific to your business or industry. The 2020 Halliday Companion results are out now - and once again, we at Soul Growers think it has given us a good measure as to how we are tracking ...in the world of wine. Whilst continuing to be a 5 star rated winery, we have pulled a 98, two 97's, three 96's, two 95's, two 94's, three 93's and a 92. That's 14 of our wines rated right up there amongst the best of the Barossa and beyond.... As humbling as it is to be recognised like this, by one of the greatest wine writers in the world, it also means that we can confidently take our wines to the world - knowing that we are very much on point.
