There are many different types of Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and it is often misunderstood, and misrepresented in the media. It can be extremely time-consuming, debilitating and extremely distressing for individuals and their families. Without proper treatment, symptoms can often intensify. Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based intervention that has shown the most success i...n effectively treating OCD. 16.01.2022 The current covid-19 imposed restrictions are undoubtedly impacting many and contributing to anxiety, stress and depression and other mental health difficulties. Along with these new announcements, the Federal Government have approved an additional 10 sessions under the Better Access Initiative for those subjected to these further restrictions. This means an additional 10 Medicare subsidised sessions for further mental health support. These additional sessions can be accesse...d from this Friday (7/8/20) with a new mental health care plan from your GP. If you are in need of additional support during this time, please get in touch. https://www.health.gov.au//additional-covid-19-mental-heal

15.01.2022 Too often I hear the "I'll be happy, when" story e.g., "I'll be happy when, I earn more money, have a family, I buy a house, reach my goal weight" etc etc. When we get so focused on the goal we don't realise that the goal post keeps shifting too, and we continue to strive in pursuit of this happiness, but never quite feel like we've reached it. We can get so hung up on the future that we miss out on living in the present, which is the only place that happiness can reside.

14.01.2022 Are you aware of Medicare's Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative? This government initiative makes accessing mental health care more affordable with rebates available from Medicare, reducing the out-of-pocket cost for up to 10 individual and 10 group sessions per calendar year, with a valid GP mental health treatment plan. Telehealth (video conference or phone) appointments are also currently available under this initiative, which further enhances access to mental ...health care. For more information on eligibility and how to access Medicare rebated psychology sessions, speak to your GP, or contact us: T: +61 404 474 043 E. 01.01.2022 Saying sorry isn't always easy, and isn't always done right. Learning how to heart-fully apologise is a fundamental step to healing fractured relationships, giving yourself and the relationship an opportunity to heal and grow

01.01.2022 Great article from the ABC about our social life "going back to normal" with loosening restrictions. It is not uncommon to feel apprehensive about socialising again, particularly if you are currently struggling with social anxiety or agoraphobia, or have in the past. Don't be afraid to seek support where needed to ease the transition. Getting out of the comfort zone can be a real challenge. https://www.abc.net.au//social-anxiety-post-coron/12246762
