Lifestyle staff at the facility have created a number of meaningful positions for residents, including assisting with reception, helping with floral workshops, and working in Opal's very own IGA-inspired supermarket, 'OGA'. With COVID-19 preventing residents from being able to leave the fac...ility for excursions, staff have built a thriving workplace community within the home for residents to feel useful, find purpose and joy. Vanessa is recognised as a HLAC Hero for delivering high standards of customer service for residents during their prolonged COVID-19 lockdown. Vanessa made sure residents were well cared for and also arranged unique experiences like card packs so residents could craft personalised cards to send to loved ones.
