Under a Unitarian banner, and by candlelight vigil, a memorial service will be held by the South Australian Druze Community in a stand of solidarity and support of our brothers and sisters in Suwayda, Jabal Al Druze, Syria. ... This memorial will be held on: Sunday the 5th August 2018 From 12pm - 2pm At 126 Belair Rd, Hawthorn A donation box will be present for those who wish to donate. 24.01.2022 Below are photos of our lovely hall at the recent Mothers Day Function. I looked around that night and felt so proud that we have a new place to call home. Tragedy struck our community in 2012. Our beloved Janet Avenue hall diminished through the hands of arsonist. ... When providing our new address to various companies, whether it be for the centrepieces, catering, cleaners etc - they all knew our new home location and each and everyone of them said oh, we have done many a functions at this hall previously. The reality is, to help our community maintain this hall, improve this hall, let alone keep this hall, we need to dig in deep and do the minimum of paying our subs. It would be a huge shame to go back to 2012, and have no place to call home again. Subs and/or donations can be paid to a committee member directly or through bank transfer. Details can be found on the SA Druze website. Let us rebuild for the sake of our children x

Last week isis attacked an area predominantly inhabited by members of the Druze faith. The terrorists went house to house, torturing and killing whole families as well as setting off multiple car bombs in areas with many people present. Over 250 people were killed and a number of young women and girls have been kidnapped by the te...rrorists. The Druze are a relatively small group of roughly 1 million members world wide. They are known largely for their peacefulness and their willingness to adapt and contribute to the wider community of the country’s they live in. As a member of the Druze faith I am inviting anybody able and would like to help those worst affected by this tragic attack to please go to this GoFundMe page. Thank you in Advance.
