22.01.2022 Morning everyone, I hope that you and your family are well. Just a gentle reminder that we are now planning for the return of Juniors training towards the end of October with Round 1 to start on Fri 13/Sat 14 Nov. Thank you to those Junior Families who have already registered their child/ren. We are currently organising teams and coaches and nominating divisions so that each team is in an appropriately competitive and enjoyable competition, so if possible we would greatly ap...preciate registrations asap via the PlayCricket website (South Croydon is your club!) We also warmly welcome any new players..so please feel free to bring a friend! COVID regulations will mean that all players will need their own equipment, but perhaps hold off buying anything for a week or so, as we may have assistance in this area. I am sure that we are all looking forward to some outdoor time and sport again asap! We look forward to seeing everyone back at The Kennel soon. Take care See more

19.01.2022 Morning everyone, On behalf of the SCCC, please find attached the latest edition of The Kennel...a reminder also of our Christmas Party this Saturday evening.

19.01.2022 Afternoon everyone Unfortunately due to the weather we won’t be able to run training but you can still come down and get your shirt, or buy a hat and hoodie If you can’t make it this afternoon we’ll arrange for a shirt to be at the games in Friday/Saturday Keep an eye on your emails and Facebook for more information about the weekend You’ve gotta love Melbourne weather

18.01.2022 Another strong win by our 1st X1 in the T20 Trollope comp tonight. SCCC 7/158 defeated Ainslie Park 130 SCCC Willis 43no, Cogan 35, Braddles 22... Well done to all players and supporters... (Don't forget this Saturday's Christmas Party)

18.01.2022 Our Woolworths Blasters finished their pre-Christmas sessions with a 'kids v adults' cricket match this evening. You couldn't write a script like this.... the adults needed two off the last ball to snatch victory, but could only manage a single, and hence, the match ended in a thrilling draw. A super over would have occurred but the sausages were ready...a fun evening for all. Thanks to the awesome kids and families who have been a part of our Woolworth Blasters so far this season.

17.01.2022 TUESDAY NIGHT POST #1 South Croydon Football Club and South Croydon Cricket Club have joined with Prospect Wines to hold a fundraiser to raise vital funds for kitchen and bar fitouts as well as audio equipment for our new pavilion. Our clubs need to raise in excess of $100,000 and we need everyone’s help and support to do this. This is an easy fundraiser where all we are asking is that you share this opportunity with as many people as possible. We have a selection of 8 gre...at value wines that need to be purchased in multiples of 6 (can be same wine or mixed varieties). You order online and it will be delivered to your home. This is a great opportunity to buy for Christmas presents and celebrations. Please click on this link for more details https://prospectwines.com.au/.../south-croydon-football.../. So please share this with as many people as possible as this will be one of the easiest ways we can start raising the money we require. Many thanks to Kiara White who has designed our label and to Prospect Wines for their support. See more

17.01.2022 Afternoon everyone, Promising and positive news from the RDCA today, with the announcement that tentatively, it appears that training for Juniors will hopefully start on/around 26 October, with the aim of Round 1 commencing on Friday 13 November (of course Fri 13...what else would one expect in 2020?!). All of this is of course dependant upon the coming weeks/month and what is in the best interests of the Community at the time. But...some terrific news. Please keep an eye on this page for more information about Registration and participation at The Kennel. Above all else, look after yourselves and your family.

16.01.2022 Afternoon everyone The RDCA are pushing ahead with plans for our resumption of Junior Cricket and with the State’s COVID numbers continuing to fall, a return to play is looking very positive. A few points to note: All games will be one dayers to allow for more rounds For u14 & U16, balls faced and overs bowled for individuals will be slightly reduced to allow for greater participation of all team members.... Round 1 is planned to commence on Fri/Sat 13/14 Nov Round 6 is on the weekend before Christmas Round 7 commences Jan 16 So it will very much be a full season with some COVID modifications... We need to submit our team numbers and gradings in the coming days so it would be appreciated if Juniors could be registered online as soon as practical for our families...ensuring we have our teams in the appropriate divisions and we cater for all intending players. Many thanks Take care See more

12.01.2022 Dear Junior Families, We are very excited by the positivity around the COVID outlook and subsequently, the potential return to cricket for our Juniors. The aim is still for the first round of RDCA Juniors to be played on the weekend of Fri 13/Sat 14 November, with training to commence late October. There will obviously be a number of social distancing regulations in place, but the good news is, our kids will be playing Community Sport again and for us, it will be at The Kenn...el! While we understand a sense of certainty regarding the season details would be helpful, like all aspects of current daily life, we are guided by Government and Health information and specifically, details from Cricket Victoria. More than ever, playing Community sport will be so important for children, providing them with social connection and skill and fitness development. We are looking forward to welcome ‘old doggies’ back to South Croydon Cricket Club, and would warmly welcome new pups! We would greatly appreciate our families registering Juniors as soon as possible so that we can begin planning our season. We have frozen our Junior Registration Fees, and hope to be able to provide more details about exciting news to do with equipment shortly. To register, go to the Playcricket website and type in South Croydon Cricket Club as your Club. Please yell out if any assistance is needed Adam 0408513011 [email protected] See more

06.01.2022 Sth Croydon Cricket 2020/21 Happy Sunday everyone! As the season approaches, we need to get some clear commitment from players so that we can put in place our Covid Safe Training groups to allow us to move forward.... Can we please get a response from all players with their intention of playing or not playing this year and the amount of training you will be able to commit to. Please let us know your answers to the following questions: Are you intending on playing cricket at Sth Croydon this season? Can you train Tuesday Night only? Can you train Thursday Night only? Can you train both nights? Are there any dates during the season that you will be unavailable to play? These are basic questions but we need to know the answers to create training groups of 10 to meet our obligations to be able to move forward. This season will be like no other that you have participated in. We will not be able to interact with other groups while at training so handshakes and high fives are definitely out. The finer details will be outlined to the groups once we know who is committed to the season and training nights. Cricket in a pandemic is a privilege not a right, so no matter what you think about how we got to this stage, we will have to abide by the protocols so we can get out and play cricket with our mates. We have a lot to work through in a short space of time so the sooner you get your responses back the sooner we can organize our training schedule. If you know of anyone that doesn’t get any of this information, please forward it on. Please let either Myself or Dobbo know asap Craig 0407 509 424 Dobbo 0407 539 332 Regards, Craig Staggard

03.01.2022 2020 Annual General Meeting Wednesday May 6th 7.30pm. Due to the social isolation rules in place we will be conducting the AGM using Microsoft Teams. Please email club Secretary Owen Bennett [email protected] if you wish to log on and participate. Please ensure you can download the Microsoft Teams software in advance. The club will email you a meeting invite with the link to 'enter the meeting' closer to the date. If you wish to nominate for a committee role or allocate a proxy for the meeting please request one below and we will email the necessary paperwork. Alternatively the paperwork is attached to the event in our TeamApp site.

03.01.2022 Evening SCCC community, As we have a bit more direction as to where we are all headed with the road to recovery from Covid, we now turn our focus on getting a base of fitness underway for the season start. Coach Craig is implementing a fitness program for the players beginning on Monday the 14th, but all members of the SCCC community are welcome to join, as a way to stay active and connected.... This will involve: - A minimum of at least twice a week, a 2km walk, run or combination of the two depending on your ability to individually do this. - Build into it and push yourself after the first week to improve each time. Ideally for our sport the walk / run option will benefit as it is a stop start game. - Screenshots of the weeks activity will be used to record everyone’s progress and consistency. - If you are unable to run let the coach know, any exercise will help. - Be mindful that short sharp running to simulate running between wickets will help get that base for match day fitness. If anyone would like to get involved let the coach know, and you can be added to the STRAVA group as a way to record each run! In a season of unknowns, every little effort counts! Stay safe and Go Dogs
