22.01.2022 This week is national volunteer week. We are lucky to have the support of a great team of volunteers. Our volunteers help provide assistance to people needing legal help in Brisbane's south west - supporting all aspects of our organisation. We are especially thankful to those who have been able to continue volunteering during the COVID19 pandemic.

22.01.2022 HUB Community Legal (formerly South West Brisbane Community Legal Centre) is seeking lawyers who wish to volunteer to provide free legal advice to people in our community. The advice sessions take place at our offices at 79 Poinsettia Street, Inala. You may choose between the following session times: Tuesday evenings from 6pm until 8:30pm Thursday evenings from 6pm until 8:30pm Tuesday from 9am until 12:30pm... You may choose to volunteer every week, every two weeks, every four weeks or every 8 weeks. 12.01.2022 HUB Community Projects is partnering with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to run the free Tax Help program from July to October. Tax Help is a group of community volunteers who provide a free and confidential service to help people on low incomes ($60,000 or less) with simple tax affairs to complete their tax returns online with myTax. Phone our HUB Neighbourhood Centre on (07) 3372-3770 to find out if youre eligible and make an appointment.

We left feeling inspired, empowered, enlightened, and curious to learn and know more. The purpose of the workshop was to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal culture and strengthen our ethical practice and ability to work effectively with our First Nations community members.
