25.01.2022 The perfect Date Night Idea... a progressive walking dinner at Adelaide Central Market with the one you love! Every time we do this we feel like we’re on holidays there’s so many delicious things to try and our eyes want to eat it all!
25.01.2022 It’s been a long time between dates. Over the last few months our date nights have been replaced with Bathroom Reno’s, Yoga studies, and new business opportunities... all progress toward our big goals... but sometimes it’s just as important to take time out to work on the daily goals... like keeping the love alive! Over the next 3 weeks we’ll be mixing business with pleasure in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Florida. It seems all we needed to do to get on a date was lea...ve the country! After over 30 hours of travel from Adelaide to Miami we headed out in our first date night in ages... a light meal and a cold drink at Etaru Japanese Bar & Grill right on the beach was just what we needed. The food was amazing, service exceptional and the location simply stunning... absolute beach front in the moon light. Quick and dirty scores cause we’re exhausted... She says for service and location and for food. He says the same for service and location and for food. We will be back... because it’s a short stroll from where we are staying. #hallandalebeach #datenightideas #workinginmiami

20.01.2022 We’re back from the USA which means back to exploring all the amazing local restaurants in and around Adelaide. Tonight we decided to try SheShells Restaurant, which is just off Jetty Road, Glenelg. Since becoming a pescatarian I’m always on the hunt for great seafood, but I have to say, it’s not easy to find outstanding seafood around Glenelg and Adelaide. (recommendations welcome)... I’ve been eyeing off SheShells Restaurant on Mosley st. since they opened about 7 months ago so tonight we decided to give it a whirl. Here’s what we thought... She says... Atmosphere - when we first arrived I felt it all a bit odd. Very quiet for a Friday night and super bright lighting. The quirky tables with sand, shells and strip lights in them were an interesting touch... And then the food came out... and we knew we’d found a winner. Next the owner and cook Mary Jane (MJ) greeted us at our table to make sure we were enjoying things... we got chatting and MJ shared her story. Her passion and dedication to her customers made my night! Thank you MJ Service - the staff were great, super friendly, warm and welcoming. A wonderful family business vibe. Food - I had the Tuna Sashimi which was outstanding. Great portions with plenty of flavour and MJ uses top quality ingredients to make delicious home cooked style meals at an incredible price. We shared the Brandy Snap basket for dessert which was perfection on a plate! He says... Atmosphere - very warm, inviting and welcoming. Service - the staff were really friendly and tentative. Food - absolutely delicious. I had the crispy skin salmon which was so moist and yummy and a huge piece of fish. We shared the brandy snap which was the biggest and most delicious desert you could hope for! Get there... All in all SheShells is a MUST!! The owner and cook MJ is an absolute legend. She cares deeply about everyone she feeds and puts her heart and soul in to making sure you have a meal to remember. Go and Like their page and keep an eye out for their special Wednesday night seafood events.... you’re likely to bump into us there! We can’t wait to return with all our friends and family. Happy Dating
19.01.2022 It’s been a long time between dates for us... In 2019 Jason Schulz and I became so focused on building our businesses we dropped the ball on our dating life. BUT with new decade comes a commitment to renew our passion for dating each other and discovering fab new venues to eat, drink and test out for Date Night Ideas.... Last night we got the 2020 dating party started at NOLA Adelaide and it was fan-bloody-tastic!!! This two story New Orleans inspired bar and restaurant can be found in the east end of Adelaide and if you’re looking for a cool bar/eatery to sip on a cocktails, sample beers or chow down on New Orleans dishes NOLA is a MUST! They specialise in beer and whiskey tasting and their house made corn bread is the best I’ve ever had! We had classic espresso martini’s cornbread, the sweet potato salad and Jase added original fried chicken washed down with Prancing Pony Red Ale. And now for the review... She says... Atmosphere - love the vibe and totally felt like I was on holiday in America. I loved sitting at the bar sipping cocktails and was thrilled we got to scoop up a booth when our food arrived! #winning out of 5! Service - it took us a while to get served but once the staff noticed us the service was fantastic. .5 (4.5 out of 5) Food - absolutely sensational!!! Sharing a sweet potato salad and cornbread was plenty for me. I don’t eat meat but Jase said the chicken was good. Every bite of salad and cornbread was a taste sensation. Overall - I’ll be dreaming about that cornbread until I return. NOLA gets out of 5 from me! He says... Atmosphere - it’s great a real New Orleans atmosphere and I like the music. Service - it turned out to be ok. Food - very authentic southern style 5 out of 5 for food! Overall - great beers, great food, great atmosphere and a really good location as well!
16.01.2022 If you ever find yourself in Miami a day trip down to Florida Keys is a must! We planned to go as far as Key Largo... or maybe Marathon, but once Jason started driving he didn’t want to stop so we made it all the way to Key West, the most southern part of USA. Taking advice from the Man versus Food guy we went to Hog Fish Bar & Grill to try their famous Hog Fish Sandwich. It’s a wonderfully rustic open air restaurant with great service and the best onion rings Jason has ever ...had (and he’s an onion ring guy). So here’s the scores on the doors... She says... Atmosphere I love the relaxed vibe and super friendly Americans. One lady sitting a few tables from us even gave us her key lime pie after Jason quizzed her about it. Service great service no complaints. Nothing mind blowing but really good. Food the meals are huge so we shared between us. I loved the lightness and freshness of the Hog Fish, and the sauce that came with the onion rings was to die for! He says... Atmosphere great family vibe Service friendly Food best onion rings and Hog Fish sandwich ever (I’ve never had a Hog Fish sandwich before)
14.01.2022 WOW - it’s been a long time between date nights... we’ve been so flat out with so many business and renovation projects and trips to Bali and things that we forgot to go on dates... it’s nice to get back into the swing of things with a nice at the movies. Has anyone seen a Star is Born yet? I forgot my tissues should I start filling my pockets with serviettes?
10.01.2022 Tuesday Date Night in Miami... As massive fans of Man versus Food we always check out the places Adam Richman recommends to eat when we’re in the USA, so whilst in Miami we had to book in a date night at Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant! The website told us to prepare for a wait and get there early so that’s exactly what we did. Jason picked me up from work at 4 and drove right down south to the bar and line up for our table. As soon as we arrived we loved the super American vibe,... it was like pulling up a seat at Cheers. Sitting at the bar we ordered pre dinner snacks; half main lobster and calamari to enjoy with our pre-dinner drinks. As soon as the restaurant opened our name was called and we were in! We opted for the seafood platter and Joes classic meal which gave us a bit of everything Joes are famous for... and I must admit... I pretty much insisted that’s what we ordered because that’s what Adam had. And now for the scores... She says... Atmosphere I just love places like this where I feel so embraced by the American culture. The bar is big, the restaurant is very traditional and I love it! Maybe I’m meant to be an American. Service its all about the tips in the USA so service is usually pretty good but these guys took it up a notch. The team work like a well oiled machine waiting in the wings never hovering but watching and they notice the needs of each table and magically appear when the time is right! Food .5 the food really was fantastic and the only reason it was not a solid 5 is because some of it was just too cold... like almost verging on frozen. The stone crab was worth a try, yes it’s very expensive but hey I’m thrilled we got to experience it! #feelinggrateful He says... Atmosphere it was very warm and friendly. They presented the restaurant well. Service everyone played their role really well. There’s so many different jobs to do and they did it as a great team providing great service. Food it was all pretty good. The salad was very plain but it made sense later, the seafood was cooked perfectly and it was fantastic but it just wasn’t 5 star food for me. It lacked elegance.

09.01.2022 Our first Pitt stop for tonight’s date night adventure is Lady Burra Brewhouse. We did stop to pray for rain as promised to our dear friends fighting fires and in the short time we’ve been here ideas are brewing in our community about how to help KI recover. Tonight we’re all about local business in Adelaide’s CBD as we discover new places we’ve never been to. ... Tonights Date Night rules = two drinks and one snack at each pit stop. If you’re looking for a great place to drink local beer Jason says the house made Pale Ale is a winner
