25.01.2022 SEU Ladies ground out a gritty 2-0 victory at Taroona in the SWC2 on Sunday, with Jo Roland’s ninth goal of the season from the penalty spot rounding out a wonderful week for our Club President, after she was named Player of the Year at Football Tasmania’s Women’s Football Awards in midweek. Molly Roach grabbed the second to seal the win late on. On Saturday, the Men’s SC1 team fought back from three goals down to share the spoils with Hobart United at an Arctic Pembroke Park...Continue reading

19.01.2022 Your donation is very much appreciated and we thank you for your support.

16.01.2022 With the 2021 Men's Summer Cup only 13 weeks away, our Southern Champs squads are already getting into gear with these fantastic 5-a-side sessions, great for building fitness and touch during the "off" season. Come along and check us out. New players welcome.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to our inspirational Player/President Jo-anne Roland on a very special award indeed.

12.01.2022 Lovely little write-up for the club on the Tassie Football Central FB group page. Thanks for coming down Matthew and thanks for the support! Get on board with this page if you don't follow it already, as it has all the news from the round ball game across the state.

09.01.2022 The winter season may have only just finished, but our Men's Southern Championships teams are already turning their attention towards 2021, with Thursday night training, trials and tournaments, starting 19-Nov. New players welcome.

07.01.2022 One of the benefits of being such a young club is that we have been able to ensure we record all our team and player data right from the off. And who doesn’t love a good statistic, right? Since our first teams took to the field in 2015, a total of 287 players have represented our club in just over 500 official Football Tasmania youth, social and senior competition matches.... Nick Roland leads the way with 172 appearances to date, with teammate Chris Goodwin only six behind. In total there are 13 centurions at the club and this could probably double during 2021. Nick's sister, Jasmine, tops the female list with 95. And the leading goalscorers? We’ll save that one for next time.

05.01.2022 Our Veto Men's Southern Championships divisions wrapped up on Friday with another scintillating double-header at Pembroke Park. Young guns Ethan Griggs and Sam Sartori were again instrumental throughout in Champ 1, creating and finishing fine goals for each other, either side of a sublime cross-shot from Michael Charlton-Fitzgerald, as the hosts took a three-goal lead into the interval. Zebras deserve credit for coming back strongly in the second half, but the United back lin...e stood firm to help claim a result which sees us leapfrog the visitors to finish the season in 9th on the ladder. The SC1 team finished the season so well, and hopes are high for a strong showing in season 2021. The senior team then took to the field to take on a typically slick and well-drilled South Hobart outfit. Some outstanding attack play from the visitors combined with some hesitant defending to open up a four-goal gap by the break. The scoreline was harsh on Glen Roland's boys, who had created numerous opportunities themselves, but the familiar curse of wasteful finishing combined with some amazing defending from Enzo Botte's impressive young side to keep us out. Fair play to South Hobart, who were the better team on the night, but it was not the end to the season United wanted, following the recent upturn in performances. There will only be a short off-season for the senior teams, who will gather once again in a few short weeks to start preparing for a tilt at 2021 which, judging by the late-season improvements in both our SC and SC1 teams, will be the most exciting yet.

05.01.2022 Another action-packed weekend with most SEU teams in action. Loads of goals, loads of heart, loads of passion, a bit of controversy, a growing supporter-base, and a whole lot of fun. Weekends at Pembroke Park are anything but dull. Special congratulations to youngsters Brad Woolley and Sam Sartori on making their first senior appearances in the Men's Southern Championship game against Taroona on Saturday. Brad and Sam are the two latests graduates of a youth system which has... now fed almost half that team. Things are working well, and our future is so bright. Love this club.

02.01.2022 Last Friday, not only did the curtain come down on the strange but enthralling season that was 2020, but the final Championship 1 game against Clarence Zebras also marked the playing farewell for three of South East's most popular players. When the final whistle blew, Nicholas Stolp, Troy Mason and James C Martin all stepped off Pembroke Park as United players for the last time. James only arrived at the club earlier this season, but made a huge impression on everyone during ...an injury-interrupted campaign, in which he injected some real quality into the heart of midfield, and then proved a terrific mentor for the youngsters who came into the team late in the season. Even when injured, James was always on the sidelines to cheer on both Championships teams, regaling everyone with his deep knowledge of the game (usually with a Leeds United twist). James departs for Adelaide next week to resume his psychology studies and we wish him the best of luck. Stolpy and Troy were part of the founding father group of players who arrived at Sorell from Clarence in 2014 and provided the defence bedrock for our first few men's social campaigns, before going on to play vital roles on and off the field as the club made the transition to the Men's Southern Championships last year. The veteran pair both decided to call time on their playing days after a combined 235 games for club, in which they managed 3 goals between them (with Troy netting in the incredible 5-4 win at New Town in SC1 earlier in the season). Stolpy will definitely be around the club moving forward as an integral member of the senior coaching group, and we hope Troy might yet decide to stick around in some capacity too. With such a young squad of players (whose average age has, for some reason, suddenly dropped dramatically!), their experience is priceless. Thanks to you all for the service and some wonderful memories, and how very fitting that you were all able to sign off with a win.

02.01.2022 A little later than usual, but there was another bumper program of South East match action to cover, with some thrilling matches along the way, especially for the senior men and the social men and women.
