08.01.2022 A common complaint amongst our patients is fungal nails. A cheap simple treatment is to wipe tea tree oil on the nail daily. This works to inhibit fungal growth and allow you to grow out the affected nail. It is not unusual for it to take 12-18 months for a fungal nail to resolve. Fungal nail treatment tips- * Have a separate set of nail clippers for the affected nails. *Keep nails cut short. *Socks need to be washed in a water temperature of above 50 degrees.... *Glen 20 the inside of shoes after wear. Some people do get a skin reaction with the use of tea tree oil. If reaction presents cease use immediately. With all general advice please consult your local podiatrist first. #Southernpodiatry #Podiatry #Nowra #Shoalhaven #Nowraalliedhealthcentre

05.01.2022 Cracked heels are a painful condition that many suffer during the warmer months. A good trick for those who have smaller heel cracks is - 1. Cut hyperfix tape (it goes by many names) into a dog bone shape. 2. Apply the tape to your heels. 3. Rub heel balm into the tape. 4. Remove after a few hours and reapply each day as requried.... This allows the cream to slowly absorb into the skin. With all general advice please consult your local podiatrist before trying. See more
