We have 9 boys in the squad which is equal most with Secret Harbour, which is outstanding. Oscar Bell, Sean Denic, Jye Lekias, Jasper Marriott, Deian Roberts, Zac Rush, Blake Russell, Ryan Schoeffer, Tyson Smith Great work guys and best of luck with upcoming program.

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, thank you all for supporting the players at their awards presentations. We had over 1400 players and parents attend the functions, which is an amazing show of support, and what makes our Club so great. As many of you know, Chrissy and I finish up this year as Club President and Treasurer after 5 years in the roles. I have sent a formal email to all our members, but for those that won’t get the email, I would just like to pass on our thanks for your support ove...r the years. At our recent AGM, the Club was thrilled to appoint Paul Lekias as the new President. Paul has many years of experience in the WA Footy Commission in high profile roles and is a highly accredited and respected coach at our Club. I have no doubt Paul and the Committee will get the same level of support from our loyal members that we were so fortunate to have over the years. Thanks again and have a great summer and happy and safe Christmas. Nick and Chrissy Schoeffer See more

12.01.2022 With over 500 players each season, SMJFC just couldnt be the great community club it is without the effort of many volunteers at the forefront and behind the scenes. There are Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, Trainers, Runners, Goal umpires, boundary umpires, scorers, BBQ extraordinaires, Committee Members and the list goes on. We want to thank not only the volunteers from this season, but every season up to this point. We are a lucky Club with strong community bonds and a great culture and it just couldnt be this without the past and present volunteers. We look forward to seeing all our volunteers out on the ground soon .

10.01.2022 Last day to support the club and have a chance of winning some great prizes . Click on pic below to purchase a raffle ticket ! Thanks everyone

10.01.2022 School Football Opportunities The Perth Sports Institute is currently seeking football umpires 15 years old and above, for weekday games based in various schools across Perth. There is no fixed commitment to participate for the entire season, umpires can simply select dates that suit them. The Umps are paid per game via bank deposit starting from $60 per game. It is a great way for players or club members to earn extra money and develop their skills.... As long as it does not clash with any current club commitments, please contact James Galli at [email protected].

10.01.2022 Hi everyone As our 40th season as a Footy Club ramps up, we are really proud to announce the opening of our newest footy facility, Northport Oval. Northport will provide an awesome training venue Mon-Fri for many of our teams, and on Saturdays our younger teams will use it as a home ground along with Falcon Oval.... This facility is the result of 3 years of hard work between SMJFC and the City of Mandurah. We would like to thank the City, our builder Mirco Della Vecchia, and our junior stakeholders, including our sponsors over this period, and of course you, our loyal members, for allowing this project to come to fruition. It is through your contribution in fees and sponsorship money that we have been able to build this facility for our kids, so please be really proud in what you have allowed us to deliver to you. Our mighty club is at capacity with over 500 players and 25 teams, and to have a second facility that we can call our own is a massive bonus for our players and the long-term future of footy in South Mandurah. Our new facility has two unisex toilets, a large store room for our training and game day gear, and two team shelters welcome relief on those cold wet days. Northport is situated on the corner of Baloo Cr and Beachview Crt in Wannanup, 5 min from Falcon Oval and just down the road from Falcon Primary. There is plenty of parking for users, with over 100 bays situated all within a 2 min walk from the oval. One of our local coffee vans will always be at the ground during game day too! We hope you all enjoy the use of this facility for many years to come ! Kind regards Nick Schoeffer President South Mandurah Junior Football Club

03.01.2022 Hi members The WAFC has recently released its Return to Play Roadmap for football. All members would have received this information and we ask you to please read it carefully. We are currently at stage 2 of the roadmap, which allows for training to recommence from 18 May under strict protocols. As you will see from the protocols, a large number of conditions have been placed on the teams if they wish to commence training. This includes recording all attendees, sanitizing... footballs, no physical contact during training, no more than 20 people at training and social distancing of 1.5m and 1 person per 4 square meters at training, amongst many more conditions. We are excited with the news that some form of training can commence, however the Club is concerned that it will be a very difficult and an unjust responsibility on our volunteer coaches to ensure that the conditions can be met adequately. It is important that your kids will be managed by our volunteers in accordance with all the conditions that the WAFC has listed, otherwise no training should commence. At this stage the Club would prefer to only commence training once Stage 3 becomes active (see chart below), which will allow for full squad training and physical contact. However we will be in contact with coaches to map the way forward with them, as they will be the direct link with your kids. If a coach is able to meet all the WAFC conditions and have training plans in place that will ensure the physical distancing conditions are met, then we can look at allowing that team to train. At this point in time, the City of Mandurah has not advised us that we can recommence using the ovals or any new conditions of use. In the meantime, players should be aware that they will need to bring their own water bottles to training and games. No bottle, no play. The Club also urges all members to please download the covid safe app. Thanks and we will be in touch as more developments come to light. Kind regards Nick Schoeffer President South Mandurah Junior Football Club

01.01.2022 Hi everyone A huge congrats to our Year 7/8 Girls and our year 7 Gold Boys for making their Grand Finals. A few of our other teams were unlucky not to be there as well. Our girls will be playing this Friday at 4.30pm at Warnbro Rec Centre against the Mustangs. The only time these teams met this season resulted in a hard fought 8 point win to our girls. So this game is shaping up to be a cracker.... Our boys will be playing Secret Harbour White at Rushton Park on Saturday at 12.30pm. Secret Harbour have been strong opposition for our boys all season in games that could have gone either way, and this time will prove to be no different. If you can get out there to support our teams please do so. It will be a huge confidence boost for these young players to have a sea of blue and gold there cheering them on. Well done guys and girls and all the best for the weekend. Win, lose or draw, we are all super proud of you !
