19.01.2022 Sometimes small changes can make a big difference! I’ve been meeting lots of clients for 2 hour in-home consultations lately...maybe all this time at home has got people thinking ! Here’s some of the things I suggested to a recent client for their (compact) bedroom- (swipe left) 1. Re-orientate the bed so that it is centered between the windows to unveil the beautiful fireplace and make it the hero in the room 2. Ditch the chunky bedframe and add v-joint paneling to the l...ength of the wall behind the bed to create a custom ‘bedhead’ design. A large artwork above the bed creates a lovely focal point. 3. Small round side tables can work really well as bedside tables especially in small spaces. 4. Custom cabinetry built into either side of the fireplace provides much needed storage and also helps frame the fireplace. 5. A large mirror above the fireplace helps bounce light around the room and give the impression of more space! 6. If your ceilings are high enough a pendant adds a nice touch- what do you want to look at when you wake up?! (I’m now assisting with the design of the custom cabinetry in the bedroom and lounge. Many of my consultations are for clients who are renovating or building but I quite often get asked to provide advice on rental properties or houses that are going to market to ensure clients get the best rental or sale price possible. 15.01.2022 Designing kitchens is so fun! After a 2 hour in home consult I was lucky enough to be invited back to design this dream kitchen! 11.01.2022 Yesterday ‘Shop Day’ was so much fun! We made it to 7 shops, squeezed in coffee and lunch and then did a styling session back at my clients house to make sure everything worked perfectly. While we purchased some lovely goodies it was actually the styling session back at my clients house that really pulled together all the decisions we had made during the day. It’s easy to go crazy and buy ‘stuff’ but purchasing items which suit your home and lifestyle and all work together ca...n be tricky. Plus I have clients that already own lots of beautiful objects but they just need to be styled in a way that really makes them shine. If anything I find most clients need to ‘take away’ some of their lovely objects to make a space feel more resolved... yes thats right it’s not just about buying ‘stuff!’ Soooooo it got me thinking? Should I be offering more ‘shopping trips’?? It’s such a nice way for clients to get out and about, experience and support some of the amazing Perth furniture and interior suppliers BUT be involved and make sure their interiors are a reflection of them! I’m completely booked out at the moment but will have capacity in November and December for this new offering. This could be a great time to get Christmas and summer ready around the house...especially while we can’t travel anywhere and are spending more time at home than ever before!
