07.01.2022 . . As dawn breaks on a brand New Year, we would like to Thank everyone who has supported and stood by Southport Gymnastics Club throughout 2020 . What a year! 2020 was anything but predictable. A complete roller coaster ride that brought about change and uncertainty for all. It forced us all to slow down and take time out from our lives and daily routines. And with this time out, came a lot of reflection.... While it has been a year that none of us will be forgetting any time soon for so many reasons, there were positives that came out of 2020 that we will be forever grateful for. . Our Club stands strong. We have an amazing gymnastics community and family at SGC, and it’s because of each and every one of you that we do stand strong. Thankyou! We have seen many changes in the past 8 months and we are so excited and ready to welcome 2021 . To our Gymnasts, our Girls, we are so very proud of each and everyone of you. You faced a difficult year with many changes and uncertainty with such maturity and positivity. You have blown us away. Some of you may have seen today’s Gold Coast Bulletin, featuring an article on a Gold Coast gymnastics club, stating (see text) that our Club has closed and our Senior Gymnasts have made the move to that club. Please be assured that we are well and truly OPEN, have not closed, and have no intention of closing. Our Club reopened 3 weeks ago with Coaches and Gymnasts working and training hard.... Southport Gymnastics Club is very much alive. We have made contact with the Journalist and the Bulletin, and the text here has now been removed from the online publication. We are expecting a retraction in the Gold Coast Bulletin this week.. Keep smiling Southport!
