21.01.2022 This rule applies everywhere including when you are in a group listening to coaches and waiting behind a cone in a drill. Fist bumps and elbow bumps are the way to greet or give some one a pump up. Maybe we call it the Dutchy and Gazza rule. They can lie on the ground so we can measure out 1.5 metres when in doubt.

05.01.2022 Hey Sharkies, I hope everyone is keeping safe and getting through these strange times. I am definitely looking forward to footy coming back and there has been some news on that front. With restrictions likely to be eased back sometime next week the AFL is releasing a plan for elite footy right through to community footy returning this year. We should have a clearer picture on May 11th what the plan is to get back to training and games. In the meantime we want to make you all ...have a chance to get some Sharkies gear before footy returns and winter fully arrives. We are opening up the Sharks clothing shop again for you to purchase some gear for you and the family. It will be open until the evening of Sunday 10th May. Delivery turn around is around 5 weeks from that date. So if you are keen for some gear jump on the link below and grab some. The club is subsidizing some of the items for everyone this season and the same as last year everything purchased will be sent to the club and handed out from there. https://www.tribalsport.com.au///afl/south-sharks-masters/ Password: sharks2020 Looking forward to seeing you all on the track sooner rather than later. Brendo

03.01.2022 Footy is on its way back legends...... hopefully! AFL/AFLQ/MAFQ have put out some information you may have seen already. As far as footy goes..... if everything stays stable..... we will be back training in Stage 2 which starts on June 12th. I have attached the link which summarises return to play guidelines. https://www.aflq.com.au//One-Page-RTP-Roadmap-AFLQ-140520. For now we are concentrating on Stage 1 protocols which is about education and preparation. The following ac...tions will occur over the next 4 weeks: I will meet with Rod Lake (Kenmore Bears Juniors President) to work out and implement guidelines and protocols to make the club COVID-19 safe. Sharks committee will familiarise themselves with COVID-19 safety protocols. They will then meet to put together guidelines for our players and officials including appointing a COVID Safe Officer No official training will happen until Stage 2 starts All players are encouraged to download the COVID-19 safe app Once Stage 2 is confirmed a briefing will be sent to all players outlining protocols and guidelines that need to be adhered to at training. As soon as updates are available I will pass them on. It is important to note that all dates are fluid and pending any further outbreaks Stages may be delayed. For now stay safe and get out for a kick with a mate when you can. Go Sharks!

03.01.2022 ***TRAINING UPDATE*** We are back boys! Training will resume this Wednesday with some guidelines in place. I will be getting my ugly mug in front of a camera soon to run through some of the protocols in detail and some season info but here is a summary. Firstly you must be registered to train.... we will have a lost on the night to check everyone off.... Training groups will be 20 people max so we will be splitting Masters and Supers. Any numbers over this will be managed on the night. We need to stagger start times so Masters will start at 7.15pm with Pipes at the clubhouse end of the ground. Yatala is your COVID Officer and will check you in when training starts. Supers will follow at 7.30pm with Nicko at the far end of the ground. Croc is your COVID Officer and will check you in. You are not allowed to enter the other training groups area at any time. It is a get in and get out policy for the next few weeks so head straight to your training area at 7.15 and 7.30 respectively. Once training finishes it is straight off the ground and head home. Please bring your own water bottle otherwise we will provide you with one that you will keep and use yourself which you can take home. Hopefully these measures plus the others I will outline in the video will only be in place for a few weeks. Please get on board so we can keep training and minimise the risk of infection. Most importantly if you don't feel well then please stay home. We will have at least 5 - 6 weeks of training so there is no need to risk making your team mates sick. Looking forward to seeing you legends on Wednesday.

02.01.2022 Probably the most important rule lads. If you are feeling under the weather stay at home. Hangovers are not included!
