23.01.2022 We are on the move....... As of Monday 1st July Do Care will be situated at "Miller House", 2 Miller St, Colac. The door is open as usual, so please continue to pop in to visit. (Maybe not Monday though.)

23.01.2022 As per the calendar, one can notice the Phone Conferences scheduled. These are a phone call from a facilitator at Miller House to discuss the topic advertised. The topics being Movies, Gardening, Books, Recipes. We find these calls work well with about 3 participants and the facilitator. If you are interested, please ring Miller House - 5232 5351-to book in.

22.01.2022 MASKS.......dont forget that it is compulsory as of midnight tonight to wear a mask or a face covering when out in public. When in the car, if you are alone or with people from your own house you do not need to wear a mask. If you have other people in your car who are not from your household you all must wear masks.

20.01.2022 JULY IS OUR BIRTHDAY!!!! Yes, it is now a WHOLE year since South West Do Care and Adult Day Activity Centre merged to become Miller House. What an interesting year it has been. It has been a great year, a busy year, a year of adaption; a year of meeting new people, doing new things, going new places; a year of calamities - Cyber Attack, COVID-19- but Miller House wont let any of those things knock us down. We are still here. We are still functioning, albeit a little differe...ntly, so................................. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US

15.01.2022 Another bright and sunny, albeit cool day. Isnt autumn a beautiful time of year? Even summer-girl me likes it. As long as the sun is shining, I am happy. Just a catch up with our visiting volunteers. With the lifting of the Government restrictions to allow for face to face visitor, at this stage, this is not the case with Miller House. Remembering how we are working with the most vulnerable people in our community, we need to keep our clients, and our volunteers, safe and well. You will most certainly will be informed when you are allowed to visit face to face, but of course, social distancing rules will still apply. I thank you for your patience.

14.01.2022 Greetings to you all!! As you would know or realise Miller House is closed as we cannot run our programmes and activities. As the constraints on us get tighter and tighter to curb the spread, we are hoping you are all doing well, learning to enjoy your own company, finding other ways of communicating with each other, finding activities you had forgotten you enjoyed........the list goes on. Even though Miller House is closed, it is still staffed, so if you need please give us... a call on 5232 5351. We are here for you. Our visiting programme is still running with our volunteers doing virtual visiting, whether it be a phone call, an email, a face-time, whatever. If you are not usually in the visiting programme and would appreciate a phone call from one of our volunteers to have a chat, please let us know at the Office. Please stay home. Ask a family member, neighbour, friend to get you your supplies. Be patient. Stay well. <3 <3 <3

13.01.2022 This week we, at Miller House, say farewell to Madeleine. Madeleine is changing roles, but staying at CAH. We thank Madeleine for all that she has done with and for Miller House in the last 15 months. Enjoy your new role. We will miss you.

13.01.2022 Hi yall, Just a little message to see how everyone is faring. I know it is very tough for some of you. Think of it being home safe and well, rather than "stuck" at home. It may seem a long time, but in the long run, it will be worth it. You can go for a walk, do chair exercises, stretch....... Lets not end up like these two poor dears....... Oh dear.

09.01.2022 Its National Volunteer Week!!!! We have such a wonderful group of volunteers, all so caring, dedicated, delightful, and just what Do Care needs. Last night we had our Volunteer Dinner to help recognise the wonderful efforts that our volunteers put in. It was a great night. A BIG congratulations to the ladies for their Life Membership too. Well done.

07.01.2022 It is Melbourne Cup tomorrow, so a holiday for Victoria-or most there of. Which horse are you barracking for? What's one thing worse than the Melbourne Cup with no crowd? Miller House is closed tomorrow.

05.01.2022 Miller House High Tea was a great success, with loads of delicious food, a room full of delightful people, and an amazingly beneficial fundraiser. A total of $253 was raised to donate to Blaze Aid. It was a great morning. Thank you, one and all, for helping make it such a great time.

03.01.2022 We had a very blowy but pleasant Mystery Bus yesterday, viewing the CrossPollination Exhibit, followed by a lovely warm cuppa at Botanic Cafe. It was just as well we stayed in Colac so we didnt get blown off the face of the earth.

01.01.2022 Last Friday the Italian Ladies were visited by Gr 3 students from Birregurra Primary School. The children helped make the pizza, while the ladies made gnocchi, biscotti, tiramisu, plus a few other Italian delicacies. The children asked some very interesting questions of the ladies too. Well done to you all.
